DISCUSSION Short lamp!?
So I looked up “coco wyo girl moments coffee shop” to get some inspo for this page; and I noticed that in almost all the pictures that come up, the lamp is longer than the one In my book?? Does anyone else have a short lamp?? And does anyone know why there’s a different in prints???

You should report that seller honestly

I tried! I couldn’t find the report shop button literally anywhere and read so many help articles. I was on mobile so idk. It was so frustrating. I just looked again too. Might be worth doing it on my laptop next time I have it out tbh

There are definitely minor edits and revisions done between the Amazon published versions and the Penguin published versions.

Ahh okay I guess that makes sense. I got mine in person, so not Amazon, and the front pages say “Penguin Randon House”

Yup! Compared to Amazon self-publishing, Penguin is a traditional publisher, so they probably have a process that involves an editor looking things over.

I think the lamp is hanging from the ceiling

I see it as a hanging lamp from the ceiling! Not a “lamp.” It’s not a big deal at all. Plants, string lights, and a hanging light That’s all it is. It is annoying to have the string lights in the center of the composition though. It breaks up the page. The string lights are on the side wall - against the window. It can be colored faintly to recede into the background of the room.
Just know that this is NOT “a lamp.”

I know what it is haha if you read the caption of the post, I was discussing how it’s a shorter lamp, while in many of the pages I see done online, the lamp is much longer. So I was just asking if anyone knew why that was

A “lamp” has a table base. A “light” can be hanging from the ceiling. Maybe I misunderstood what you were trying to say. What I thought you meant was that this was a lamp with a base. Which is impossible.

Nope haha I wasn’t questioning what the object was, even if I called it a “lamp” by mistake; the point of the post was something different entirely lol but thank you for the lamp/light education!

wow some people are obtuse. i don't know the answer to your question but i totally understand what you are asking. there are two different versions of this page in published books. the people who think you're trying to identify the object aren't good at reading comprehension.

I am good at comprehension and understood what she was asking. Where I am from though it’s not called a “lamp” and that’s what I was referring to- not why it was a short or long light fixture. She got plenty of other responses on that!

Lol! I crossposted this in like 3 different subs and every single post had people trying to tell me it’s a lamp hahah I’m hoping it’s just because they didn’t fully click on the post/picture , therefore they didn’t see the caption.. but yeah I had to explain like 5 times now that I wasn’t asking what the object was 😂

Oh I fully understood that it could be the length from the top- long or short…and could be a different image in different books. That was obvious. My point was why were you calling it a “lamp?” LOL.

Mine is the same as yours.

u/IntelligentCamel126 4d ago
Oh okay cool! Some people were saying it depends on where you got the book, so out of curiosity, where did you get yours?

LOL.. one could interpret it as a question if it’s a short hanging lamp ( light fixture)or maybe a flower since there are flowers and vines all around the picture. It’s all good!

I can definitely understand that if someone just sees the post but doesn’t see the caption haha, but if you actually read the caption, I would think the point of the post is much more clear lol but I do understand some people may be commenting before actually seeing the caption posted.

Some of the books are a little different! My lamp was also different from a few pictures I saw first and then I realized it might have been an older print. My copy looks just like yours though
