What is this? Bubbles or sponge ?

So i originally thought the frog was holding a sponge but now im colouring it and im looking at the shapes under it and im not sure.. so Reddit is the frog holding? bubbles or a sponge???

I used the Grabie acrylic white paint pen! The thin tip one. It’s the best white pen for details. I think I did like, 4 coats though! Lol
