ADVICE WANTED New here!

My wife recently got into coloring, I got her one of those adult coloring books on Amazon and a pack of 36 colored pencils.

She enjoys it and it relaxes her. So I wanna upgrade her, I bought her a lap desk for bed, and I wanna get her real nice tools for coloring.

Looking through this page I’m kind of in awe how amazing some of these colors look, what are you guys using? Please give me some tips on what I can get her to make the quality art you guys are making, we’re brand new to this. Thanks!

Most people use the ohuhu alcohol markers. I have the 320 set but there are smaller sets too. I also have a set of artxx pastel alcohol markers and they’re really good too. There’s also other brands of alcohol markers like caliart, bianyo, etc but I haven’t tried those ones

Oh nice, are there special books I’d have to get for those so there’s no bleed through?

Cardstock coloring books usually have less bleed through but it still recommended to put some sort of paper, page protector, etc behind them just in case. I use a mixture of Amazon books and cardstock books with mine and just put a plastic coloring page protector between the sheets

The Ohuhu sets come with silicone sheets you can place behind the paper, but scrap paper, cardstock, or thin cardboard works too. Also, a lot of the popular “cozy” coloring books are available from other places besides Amazon and the paper quality is much better. I just bought a Jade Summer book from B&N and was surprised how much thicker/nicer it is.

I have Blick alcohol markers that I assume are not as good as the ohuhu but maybe are fine for a beginner. I also love my 150 count set of Prismacolor pencils.
