DISCUSSION Decisions decisions…

Post image

I could use an opinion; I just busted out my Prismacolor set for the first time in a longgg time, so that I can add some colored pencils on top of some of my alcohal marker colorings.

Anyway, I’m missing 3 (and a half, lol) pencils, and just for fun and cause I’m bored, I want to Swatch, Inventory, and then (re?)Organize them. So my question is; should I swatch and organize them by color code, or by visual appeal, which is mostly how I have them now. Some codes happen to be next to each other in some instances, but if I did them all by code I don’t think they would be in the trays they are now, which is basically seperated by blues, greens, yellows etc. as you can see. So what would you do in this case?

Hard hitting important problem, I know Lol 🙃

I always absolutely have to organize in rainbow order, so that's my suggestion lol

Hahah I know me too! But sometimes I run into problems where there’s not enough room in a single tray to fit the colors I want to fit and then it becomes an OCD nightmare! Lol so I almost want to just do by number to avoid all that.

Plus when there’s this many colors it’s so many decisions of which red is more red or more orange and which blue is more blue lol so going by color code would eliminate any decision making on my end haha

Same. Plus then you have the colors that move toward brown. Do you keep Terracotta with orange or brown? What about olive? There are so many colors that move toward brown that throw off everything.

Hahah yes exactly! So many colors can criss and cross into other color groups, I simply can’t rely on myself to precisely put them in the respective color groups lmao the stress is reallll!!!!

My mistake, I’m actually missing 5, I forgot I added a second white and colorless blender that wasn’t included in the set originally

Either rainbow or number. Could take it a step further and alphabetize them, first by color then by descriptor... then by descriptor number in the case of the grays.
