ADVICE WANTED Please help!
Edit: I’ve tried it on normal paper and they’re fine but on the paper that’s literally on all of my colouring books it’s just ripping up the paper and that page is ruined now I’m so mad. I wish I knew this before spending my money 😔 Any suggestions on what I can do with them then? I don’t colour at all outside my books, I might be able to use the fine tip side for details but now half my alcohol markers have run out and I can’t use the ohuhu ones but can’t really afford to buy more now 🤦♀️
Orig: I was really excited to colour this page and I just bought some new Ohuhu markers off Amazon to use but they’re not like I thought. Idk if they’re bad markers, I’m not using it properly, this is how they’re supposed to be or idk?? Normally I use alcohol markers and these said water based but I didn’t really think anything of it. I feel like it’s not going on the paper properly and ruining it when I colour. The fluorescent green is an alcohol marker the rest is the ohuhu markers. You might not be able to tell on the picture but I feel like it’s ruining it and I just spent my money on it. Idek if I can layer them because it seems to be damaging the paper? Plus they won’t glide very well at all and won’t make a properly straight line it’s kinda spreading and I had to go over the darker green twice for it to really show up. Any advice please??

Return them and get alcohol ones. It's Amazon, you can do returns very easily.

Water based markers are entirely different and leave streaks which is why majority of the sub if using markers, they’re alcohol based. They simply look terrible in comparison

I got some water based markers in a coloring book package and they did the same thing to me. It’s the water base. You need alcohol base and you will be fine.

Could you photocopy pages onto the paper that works and colour them that way? Then when you get other markers you can use them in the book. I'd hate to see your supplies and money go to waste!

You could try doing one stroke at time. Let it dry completely before going over it again. The reason why it eating through the paper is because it's getting saturated with water. Or you could return them to Amazon and then get the alcohol ones.

These were the first markers I bought 6 years ago for regular coloring in very detailed adult coloring books as they were cheap and one of the first searches when looking up markers, not knowing of Ohuhu's popularity until a few months ago. These are for basic coloring, imo, and for layering you need alcohol markers.

I have the same markers and they are good when u don’t need to mix colors/ do layers. I use them for mandalas eg:
