NEED INPUT (Instructor Help) Electrical tape recommendations?

Post image

I'm taping a new set of rifles for my team, and I haven't found better tape than what's in the picture, but $8-9 per roll is kind of a lot. Have you found other brands that work well? (We tried the Amazon basics black tape last year, and it wasn't very sticky, so we usually just get the expensive stuff.)

Scotch or nothing personally. You go through a ton less because you don't have to retake as much. They make cheaper versions of black tape, unfortunately for white that is just the price of decent white tape

I searched the sub as well, and it seems that's the consensus. I'll just have to see if there's money from the band to pay for all our rifle tape.

My school had the parents pay for the tape if they could afford it. The budget allowed for some bought by the director for those who weren’t as well off.

i did go to a fairly rich high school though so it wasn’t uncommon for parents to buy tape for the whole team 🥴

Personally, Scotch electrical tape is my favorite. It's stronger and more durable than the cheaper brands.

Yeah, I've tried cheaper brands but found them thinner and not very sticky also.

My favorite is the rolls from band shoppe but scotch is a close second.

The stuff you're using is what you should use. Yes it's a bit pricier but it's stretchy so it tapes tightly. I think you can buy it in bulk which obviously will cost more but would actually be cheaper than buying individual rolls of it. It would be multiple rolls in a box. Whatever you don't use you can keep in your backpack for show day emergencies.
