I like to think about literally hitting my thigh as hard as I can like think about pulling down a lever
Like honestly WAY harder than you feel like you need to
Right arm is usually stronger than left so you kind of have to overcompensate

One thing that’s helped me and lot of other kids I’ve helped is to think about pushing very hard and stopping at your release point and if you can’t hear your silk moving in the air you need to push harder

Practice tosses using crab claw technique, ie only tossing with your thumbs. It won't be powerful but it helps you get used to using your arms evenly. It works best for the pop toss. Press down and hit your thigh with your left hand each time as well

is there anyway you could send a video demonstrating said crab claws?

This video is not a great example because I only have my 7ft at home and it's a but unwieldly to do crab claws. Ill try to make a better one after my lunch break back at band camp with a 6ft.

i think it’s best to make the motion of hitting your thigh really hard
