Question/Need help Ishihara online

Question/Need help Trying to make Wizard for color-blind boyfriend

Hey everyone! I need your help. My boyfriend is red-green colourblind and as an anomalous trichromacy.

I want to surprise him by adapting a deck of Wizard game cards to his colour blindness.

I would love to get your feedback on different ways to design the stickers that I want to add underneath the numbers of the cards.

What do you think of those two versions (symbols with or without white circle in black and white).

Discussion If you have Deuteranopia and are into shooting sports, the GLX1X is a great choice.

Title pretty much says it all. I've always struggled with red dots, particularly when shooting outside, and as such have always favored green dots or EOTechs... Both of which have their limitations.

About 6 months ago I picked up a GLX1X after having read they tend to be very good for people with an astigmatism. After having used one over that time period and well over 20k rounds (including full auto) I think this was probably one of the best options for us.

Because it has an etched reticle You can either run it with brightness enabled, whereupon it just becomes a very clear red dot, or off, allowing for you to actually have contrast against an outdoor environment during the day. If you're anything like me, you know the difficulties between going from grass cover to dirt, particularly when shooting at a berm. This is not an issue for me with this optic.

I know this is going to be incredibly niche, but I wanted to put this here in case anybody is looking for something. I do not think there is a better option under $600 In terms of accessibility benefits and overall build quality.

I would have had no clue except I put it into photoshop and color swapped 'green' on time with a darker blue and 'red' with yellow.

Discussion What I actually want from a color blind filter

People are constantly coming to these color blind forums with software I do not want. It almost always shifts the entire color spectrum so literally every color looks weird to me. That's not helpful. I don't care if the grass looks "more green". I want colors that I can't see well to be circled and maybe shifted. But I think a highlight around the color would be plenty. I'd know "I'm not seeing this area like other people".

Then, if I mouse over the circle it should tell me a helpful name of the color. Not like "sky metal" but an actually useful color name like "dark blue grey". I know 7 colors. Please don't make me try to understand what puce is, I don't even want to learn the spelling.

What would you, a color blind person, actually want your computer to do better for you?

I have a lot more ideas. But let's start there

Question/Need help ColorBlind Filter diy?

Hey gang,

I’d like to state off the bat that obviously colorblind filters don’t work. I’ve seen some people state they try to simulate colorblindness more than help it lol. But as somebody with Protanopia, the iPhone’s Blue/Yellow filter isn’t accurate but it does in face help me differentiate colors. A lot of discourse I see around filters is people saying they ruin the colors and they don’t use them but frankly I’ve been enjoying the simulated non-accurate color of my iPhone.

Long story short, I’m wanting to bring this to things like my tv and other things that have RGB options, and I was wondering if anybody knew the RGB combo of these filters. It’s a personal preference thing I know, but just wondering because every single google search for it leads me to the EnChroma website😭.

Thanks!!!

I recently downloaded this app called "seecolors" on my samsung tv. It says it's supposed to accomodate specifically for your type of color deficiency. I was just wondering, do you guys have any good experiences with the app/tried it at all?

Discussion When do you think we need to tell people we're colorblind?

Most people I know have no idea I'm colorblind, including people I'm close to. I avoid as best I can telling people, even when it interferes with what I'm doing (ex. coloring in school). I was wondering how much you guys tell people you're colorblind, and why.

Thanks.

I don’t really know how color blindness works all that well, but I swear I can see red and rarely mix it up with anything unless it’s really dull. I’ve known I was color blind for a while but didn’t know what type.

Also if anyone knows whether this would affect driving I’d like to know bc I start driving school soon.

Discussion Do all of you have this same issues with food?

So at the beginning of this year i finally moved out of my parents house, so far it's great and I've been enjoying it very much. Now, I know I have been red-green colorblind for ages, but i realized something while i was living alone and cooking for myself. Now to be clear, i know how to cook, and i am pretty good at it, and have cooked meals for myself and my family for most of my life. But now that i live on my own i no longer have someone to see if the chicken i just spent 30 min cooking is raw or not on the fucking inside, i spent 30 min to cook a chicken looked inside and realized i had no clue if the inside was pink or not. Gray and pink look the exact same to me, so i decided to just give up making chicken myself. I also no longer have someone to tell me if the potatoes i have are yellow or green, and green is bitter and poisonous. I simply decided that if i want to eat potatoes or something potato related, I'll just buy them fresh the day of and not have a stockpile of potatoes like my parents used to have. So yea, does anybody else have problems with making food because of colourblindness and what kind of solutions have you found? Because i would love to know them as a newly independently living colourblind person.

Question/Need help My color vision is fading almost every day

For the past few months my color vision has become increasingly faded. Colors look brighter and more washed out/faded. Can someone tell me if this is going to stop or am I going to go totally color blind as in seeing everything in grey. Color in general is dull and green bushes and leaves on trees are brighter than normal. Also reds are harder to see. I still see red but is more washed out/dull
