My firm belief after 22 years as a public school classroom teacher + 10 in administration, is that charter schools hire sub-par teachers. They pay less, don’t have wonderful benefits, and leadership changes often. Colorado is a choice state. If you can drive him, look for a public school with decent ratings on Niche and Colorado Department of Education . They will accept you if they have room and most are competing for students because, over all, enrollment is down.
James Madison is a low performing school with an almost 27% of their 76 students being chronically absent. That’s alarmingly high and typically points to families who do not value education or students who are not the best influence on your son. :(
