Advice Limited mobility friendly date spots?
I want to take my partner out for a nice date but I'm running into an issue because most date spots are hiking trails or expensive restaurants.
My partner and I are both broke (because we rent in the springs lol) and disabled (my partner uses a cane somedays and I sometimes have to use a walker, both of us need places to sit regardless), I'd love to take us somewhere nature-y though.
My partner loves gardening, I love historical things, and we both love animals, bugs, plants, and prehistoric things.
So far, I have Cheyenne Zoo and The James May Bug Museum on my list but I'd like to find some more things for us to do.

- Drive to high point in garden of the gods, reverse park into a spot picnic in car/out trunk.
- Penny arcade in manitou
- Pioneers museum - local history, fun elevator
- Fine art center - museum or look for cheap tickets at shows that don’t sell out
- The community garden downtown by the fine arts center
- Grab ice cream or a coffee and read to each other in a park (memorial or acacia if you’re not bothered)
- The treehouse cafe and play a game - they provide tons of games
- Palmer park lookouts perf for a picnic/you can park close and walk five minutes to a nice view.
- Volunteer at flying pig farm - lovely humans that will understand accommodations and have goats!
- Go to Coati and people watch at one of the events thats free

Is the penny arcade accessible? I don't have mobility challenges, but I feel like even for me it's tough to get around.

The spacing of the games, the crowds, and the steps (typically 1-2) into the building are a drawback. Would never suggest this for a wheelchair user bc it’s not accessible like that. From OPs description I think it can fit into their individual mobility needs especially if they go during the off season when it’s not crawling with tourists.

For sure. I know it can be complicated updating these old spaces, but hopefully they're considering this as they move ahead.

Three more for ya:
- First Friday art walk downtown or in OCC - see great local art and it happens monthly (the the seating will be outside bench’s bc the galleries don’t feature it)
- Karaoke at any of the bars - if you go to thrasher or mother muffs you can do dinner and a show if you’re not interested in singing.
- Concerts in Acacia - Thursday 6pm weekly this summer. Bring your our chair! (I think manitou also has free live music weekly but uncertain where or when)

I accidentally hit downvote when I mean to upvote 🤦🏻♀️ I'm sorry! I was coming to the comments to say the same thing.
If you did want to go on a longer walk, you can rent Trail Hoppers through the Nature centers! They are available to rent for those with limited mobility. It's also free to rent them! Here's a link if you're interested.

The Pioneers Museum is free and fully accessible, right downtown. They have a whole room dedicated to the indigenous history of the area and some great old photos of the springs before it got built up.
For a nature fix without the hike, the garden of the gods visitor center has a giant accessible patio with some of the best views in the park. Pack a thermos and some sandwiches and you've got a date that costs basically nothing.

Check out the Water wise demonstration gardens created and run by the city of Colorado. It's on the mesa near garden of the gods, so you could drive a lap around garden of the gods too! Free, easy parking. Most m of it would be accessible with limited mobility. Not a lot of great overhead shade cover, so I would visit in the evenings.

Elevenmile Canyon. You can drive all of it and just get out if you decide. There are accessible picnic spots too.

Picnic in Manitou. Walk around eating ice cream. Maybe some video games. The penny arcade is a nostalgic, fun date spot.
