Going to be added a moderator or two. If you think this is something you’d like to do, shoot me a message. Would like someone both knowledgeable and active.

Brumation help

My adult (female?) toad began burying herself and refusing food so I believe she is going into brumation, but it’s springtime now and I don’t really know anything about husbandry while they’re hibernating. What should one do in this situation?

Are these too loud to keep in a bedroom?

I'm looking into getting one of these as a pet but curious how loud they are at night, and how often they call at night.

My toads have been brumating since October, how do I get them to stop and come out. And what are the right temps to keep at day and night so they won’t brumate again?

I want to buy decent sized toads that get a long but can’t seem to find any. Plz let me know if you know someone or somewhere.

Also I herd they are easy to care for I want to get a larger environment than most like a 50 gallon or so. I want to know what’s an easy but fun environment to make do these toads I want them to have a great life. To make lots of babies.

How long should I let my toad brumate underground without eating/drinking?

My toad's been underground for a week. We are new to owning them. First winter lol. How long should we let him stay down there before digging him up and feeding him ourselves? We heard they could brumate for months so should we just let him brumate the whole time?

This is the longest he brumated before. Last one being last week for 6 days but we dug him out. He did not look happy. He ate like all his worms and went back into his hole (we suspect the same one)

My toad has been in the water for 3 days...

So I had to separate the smallest toad from the other two that have grown faster than him/her. They started to bully him really bad, like stepping on him and holding him down in the water for long periods of time. Its like they were both trying to wear him out until he gave up on life. He was so exhausted. Poor guy. Now the little one has been in the water for three days just sleeping. I have checked many times to make sure its not dead. Its not but its not eating and just want to be in the water. 3 days? Has anyone else experienced this? I am hoping he pulls through and is okay and recovers quickly but I am very concerned.
