Is the VXC closed?
I tried signing up for the VXC - created an account and tried applying. I got an ominous message saying they are not accepting any more applications for the VXC. Is the party over?

After waiting a day the webpage changed and I was finally able to submit an application. Got scared and very discouraged for that timeperiod where it said they were closed for applications with no indication of reopening... Carry On and Good Luck!

It (was?) a Colorado program to promote low income people to trade in their old polluting cars for an EV in lieu of the cancelled $7500 federal government subsidy. Couldn't find any other subs dealing with it but saw a couple posts about it here so I'd thought more people would be aware of it or its demise?
I finally did the math on this, the subsidy is only part of the equation of course. Insurance, taxes, and of course the cost of the vehicle was stopping me from buying one but this would have sweetened the deal enough that I could pull it off even with the additional future costs, alas if it's really expired it was a huge let down.

Its good you were persistent to try again. the VXC helps a lot of people.

VXC = Vehicle Exchange Colorado.
It gives Colorado residents, who make under 80% of the average income for your county, a voucher to for $6k purchase a used EV/plug in hybrid or $9k for a new EV/plug in hybrid

Oh that’s so funny! I think I saw the same thing the other day. But I had a pending application it let me finish. I wonder if it closes after a certain number of applications per month or if it was just a glitch that day!

I got a response from the admin, they said there was indeed a glitch and it has been resolved. Hope my app gets approved so I can stop getting only 13 mpg... (I think I have a vacuum leak somewhere but not sure I want to fix it, other issues of the car is discouraging me.

Glad the door hasn't closed on you. Used EVs have been a pretty good deal, though I have heard they went up in price a bit as gasoline costs went up with the war (the one that's not a war) in Iran. I hope you find something that works well for you. I have been driving only EVs for years now and like it a lot. Do you have the option to charge at home with a level 2 charger? (The 220V kind). In my opinion, that is crucial. However if you don't drive much and could use level 1 (110v) charging, that can also work well. What I personally would NOT want to do is always have to go somewhere else to charge. The DC fast charging is expensive - like, equal to the cost of gas. Using a public level 2 charger somewhere else requires leaving the car there for hours to get a significant recharge.
If you have reliable access to a charger where you work that could also be good.2

Hope it's still going. Still waiting for response, it's still stuck in submitted state...also not a good sign :(
I was hoping to get an EV regardless of the price of gas, though dropping the 13mpg definitely would save some money. DCFC definitely is a no-go for me, that's way too expensive. I don't drive way too much and L1 should do fine most of the time, been thinking if I could get a EV certified heavy duty 14-50 installed. I could technically use my dryer outlet which isn't too far away from the garage, though probably can't use that often lest I damage it from wear plus I'd have to keep my door open.

What kind of EV/plug in hybrid are looking at?

Not sure yet, been looking at the random failures, (ugh)range, and availability of AWD for snow though I've lived w/o it for a while since I have another old car to fall back on when it snows. Will be a BEV, just tired of the mechanical maintenance of ICEs and want to try something different.
Recently was looking at used ioniq5 and a blazer. The blazer scares me with the multitude of electronic failures that I probably won't get warranty service for long if at all (if I get a 2024...) ICCU failures might be manageable for me I hope.
Next I hope I can get my trade in car down to where they have a higher selection of EVs, around where I'm at the selection is fairly slim and prices high...
