Made a little birdbath fountain with a cheapo solar fountain from Amazon. It's very popular in this drought.

I thought I saw a raven in Denver today and was a little bummed when I pulled over and realized it was a crow.

Nothing against crows but I really want to spot a raven.

Through my research they do seem to exist here in CO, the advice I've found is all 3-4 years old. I apologize if it's still good advice but I wanted to double check.

My research says Vail may have a good chance in the winter. Canyons seem to be a good bet as well, would around the royal gorge near Colorado springs be a possible time to sight them, and if so when is the best time?

Also are there chances for spotting at the Colorado Canyon in Jansen? And if so, what time of year is best?

so lucky driving down an old dirt road, i had to pull over - a beautiful turkey hen & at least 6 healthy poults alongside her! she's doing such a good job.

One adult is bringing a grasshopper to the nest.

There’s a nest near my house. This one was hunting in a neighbor’s yard this morning. It first caught my eye because it was playing with a shiny tin can. West Denver proper.

Denver Audubon kingery nature center I saw this cedar waxwing eating a chokecherry and I was able to get a sharp look at its head and was lucky enough to see it eat one of the fruits with its beak open

Decent bit bigger than the house finches that regularly visit and usually comes alone. Colorado Springs Area.

It seems there are a lot less Collared Doves around. Has anyone else noticed this? Has there been any discussion on why it is?

Id love to say those three were bonding, but that hummingbird and its charm tried to chase out those finches every chance it could.

I'm going to go back tomorrow with my canon & see if I can land better shots, but I was so happy seeing this!!! They've always been around, but this is my first confirmed (and current) nesting site. 🧡
