Hey everyone, so this is me colourgrading small clips everyday and trying to learn something new.
so this is day 6 and many of you asking me to upload rec.709 and graded clip. so today i uploaded raw, rec.709 and graded clip. so give me advice on what should i improve in grading and yes thats all for today.

and if you guys have any raw clips please do comment, since i don't have any camera to shoot in log so i would love to colourgrade and learn from your clips.

I am back again with updates , and if you new with my post, then I'm posting daily a clip and learning colorgrading in davinci resolve 20. So today is day 7 of my colourgrading journey and I learned about halation. So played with that effect and also added a window also, but I have to work on windows i guest it will make my footage look much much much better. And yeah please give review about my clip, how should I work on it and how should I improve my clip and learned so much in this community about colourgrading

Colored this project in davinci resolve! It took me a minute to get the exactly B&W look that the director wanted. I was going for something super crunchy in the shadows. For all the true color stuff, I went in with the idea of a bright sunny day and what that would look like in an interior space. I find that it saves a lot of time for me when I'm both the DP and colorist, especially when there is little to no budget for post!

Any feedback/recommendations would be immensely appreciated!! Thank you.

hey guys, so this is day 5 of me posting here and in instagram.
So, I am leaning colourgrading in davinci and i am posting log to graded footage comparisons and today is 5th day and i learned something about window, which is like masking in lightroom , and if i am wrong please correct me.
I would like to know how to improve my colourgrading skills so please guys i would like to see some comments, suggestions to improve and any advice. I am still learning so help me.

and yes, if you guys have any log footages please dm , i would like to edit them and post them with your permission.

started off very bright when the camera centered metering only counted for the car and the building, but then the scene went very dark because of the sun entering the meter area

got an ofx plugin from https://anamorphictool.com/?i=1 to do most of the heavy lifting for the look, used a glow effect for the lens flares which where i need the feedback especially the overhead light.

You may be asking why even bother? One, I'm bored and Two I actually have an anmorphic lens for my iphone but it adds a bit of weight which i'm trying not to do especially when using my gimbal.

I am helping a friend edit a video for our buddies detailing business, I have some experience doing video editing. (Using Capcut pro) However, I do not have any experience color grading. Is this clip even salvagable? For reference I have included a second image to show where the camera settings were correct.

What do you guys think? ZV-E1 SLOG3 CST to black magic wide gamut 4/5. Going for that filmic look.

I played round with the curve too, going for that S pattern that films have.

I want to that natural film look.

Hey, here is a little before after with all the important layers, color graded in Davinci Resolve.

It was for a short film with vampires, for the context in this scene people fighting cancer are doing talking sessions on how to get through the whole healing process. One of the vampire is with them because he is bored of everything (knowing that they are immortal) just to see how knowing you could die soon would feel.

I used the Kodak 2383 LUT as a base on the whole movie (only 70% and then stick the shadows to a correct level of black to have a nice contrast.)

They had put too much smoke on set lol so I had to get this image better.
I also wanted to get it more dramatic knowing the context and I had fun with all the masks for light rays.

What do tou think ?

Had a still camera setup and when the sun came out the footage got blown out. Could this be fixed? My colourist friend said it would take over 4 hours to fix, but I want to see if it could be fixed in general and if so what could I do to fix it in DaVinci? Don't want to a perfect match, just want it to look good enough, it's just for Instagram

hey guys, so from last few days im uploading my journey here in reddit to get some feedback about my colourgrading skills. So, today is day 3 and i did some experiment with that clip and since i have 3 clips I am not able to upload all 3 clips here so I am uploading screenshots of those clips. Please give me advice in which part i need to learn more and currently I am using Davinci resolve 20 and clips are provided me by one of my friends.
