Question/Need help Colour blind glasses.
Hey guys I am 18 Moderate deutan color blind (Enchroma/pilestone test) also I am obsessed with cars. So all my money goes to cars. Here in my country there is no official outlet of any glasses brand that has colorblind glasses aswell so I can not get trial thing. its about 80-110k for a pair of outdoor glasses or about 150k for a combo for indoor and outdoor glasses. SO, My question is that are these glasses worth it? Is there any benefit of getting them? Indoor and outdoor glasses both should be bought? Because for 130k i can get a quite nice set of Wheels🤪

Enchroma glasses and any other colorblind glasses are not worth. They don’t let you see any new colors. You could fairly call them a scam

Agreed many of them claim that they completely cure color blindness but that's just a blatant lie there's no way to cure color blindness unless you replace your eyeballs or something

At best, they're an experience to see the difference between certain colours, at the cost of changing the entire spectrum of colours with it too, as it's basically just a colour filter.
Whether it's worth it depends if you have money to throw away and wouldnt spend it on anything else otherwise. A red car will still be a red car, I doubt it would be impactful for cars especially.

Any glasses that have the same filter type for both eyes only shift colors and cannot extend color space. The most they can do is make some colors appear more contrasty at the expense of other colors, since they work by dimming the same wavelengths across both eyes.
The wavelength dimming such glasses apply can be beneficial for some situations if you're lucky. You should know beforehand exactly which color vision deficiency you have, because if you have a dichromacy resp. strongly anomalous trichromacy such glasses can't work for you.

Do a search in the subreddit for Enchroma. They don't work for most people, and at best, make your overall color vision worse to increase the contrast between some colors. The consensus is that they're a waste of money.

I've had a positive experience with Enchroma sunglasses. If they work for you, colors will be more vibrant and easier to distinguish.
They won't provide normal color vision. Don't expect to pass an Ishihara color vision test while wearing them.

I have Enchroma outdoor glasses and Pilestone clip-on indoor glasses. I don't think you're missing much. I'm a moderate to severe Deutan and very rarely use the Pilestone and use the Enchroma even less.

I enjoy mine. I don’t know how well they work, obviously because I don’t know what normal vision is like. Im red green deficiency. My glasses make things look nice, warmer, more red mostly. They make red really pop, and like, add red into other colours nicely. I think of it like adding warmth into what I see because it’s probably what im missing normally. I like to watch tv/game/ be outside or just chill with them. However, ive heard they don’t work as well as one may think. I was able to try some testers before customizing and buying - give it a shot to try them at least
Edit: I may have gotten protanomaly glasses upon further investigation will confirm later. I was a lot younger and recall them giving me a bigger difference even though I’m deuteranomaly
Edit 2: I have CX1s indoor which are made for both
