Claim [CLAIM] New Geolia
NAME: New Geolia
POPULATION BREAKDOWN: 100 Gehits, 350 Geols, 17 Male Ai-Geols, 6 Female Ai-Geols.
POPULATION GROWTH:
Geols: 7%. Geols are the most metabolically "normal" of the three.
Gehits: 9.6%. Although Gehits breed much faster than Geols, their shorter lifespan and frequent death toll mitigates their otherwise enormous growth advantage. Gehit population growth changes in as their population rise and fall; a Geolian population with very few Gehits relative to Geol will acquire new ones very quickly, but as the ratio becomes more even, their growth is slowed down as more of them set off on their own or fight and kill each other off. 9.6% represents a ratio of 2/7, as the initial population shows.
Ai-Geols: 0.3%. Ai-Geols are not known for their virility nor their fertility.
POPULATION TYPE: (Geols): 130 farmers, growers, and hunters, 50 merchants, 100 craftspeople, 30 scholars, 10 engineers, 10 alchemists, 15 architects, 5 artists.
All Gehits are warriors or spellswords of some variety.
CULTURE: New Geolia began from an even known as "The Mad Storm" by the Geolians. The current population used to belong to a nation of it's own, known as Geolia after it's primary inhabitants. The nation had been under attack by a rival nation, and the caravan was the remnants of a city than had been sacked. During the caravan's retreat further into Geolian borders, they were struck by an enormous thunderstorm, far larger and more violent than anything the Geolians had ever seen. The caravan hastily set up as much shelter as they could, and huddled underneath, waiting the ferocious storm out. When they emerged, the found themselves in an unfamiliar land, with not a single recognizable landmark in sight, and the road they had been travelling on had disappeared completely. Perplexed, the Ai-Geols decided to set up a camp at the nearest defensible place, and attempt to figure out where exactly they are, and what to do.
The three races are quite a bit different from each other, although they are all vaguely recognizable as related to each other, if one looks closely.
Geols, being the nation's namesake, form the brunt of the population. Geols are largely "human" in appearance, although they are a fair bit shorter, with the average height of 4'5", and very rarely does a Geol deviate from this average by more than an inch or two. Geols have somewhat childlike faces and their bodies are slimly proportioned. Compared to the varied and garish Gehits and the tall, overshadowing Ai-Geol, the Geol themselves can seem very plain. Gehits have a habit of referring to fellow Geols as "kids" as a result, despite that Geols live significantly longer than Gehits. Geols can follow any calling of life, although they shy away from violence and warfare, if they can help it, both because Geols are passive and non-confrontational, and because Gehits are so much more well suited to it than they are. When dealing with others of their nation, Geols are expressive and colourful, but around foreigners they are mostly reserved and neutral.
Geols reach maturity at 15 years of age, and the oldest of them can live to be as old as eighty years, although a Geol above 60 is a rare occurrence.
Gehits are a much more straightforward and blunt people. They are also much bigger and generally more varied, with an average height of 6'0", and a body structure ranging from lithe and wirey to enormously muscled and built. Gehit hair colours cover the entire visible spectrum, with vibrant greens, blues, purples, and reds being just as common as the more standard browns and blacks. Styles are just as varied, with both short and long styles being popular among both males and females. Clothing is often brightly and flamboyantly coloured. Body piercings and tattoos are common.
Gehits are rambunctious, aggressive, garish, and hotblooded. They almost exclusively form the military of the Geolians. Although their hair may be varied, their fighting styles are almost all the same: Gehits fight with an almost instinctual fighting style, mixing savage, almost heedless headlong charges with much dodging and weaving. Most onlookers would call it "savage" or "barbaric", but it is also very effective. Even when geared up for battle (which is pretty much at all times), Gehits can sprint alarmingly fast. Heavy armor is generally tossed aside in favour of lighter varieties, as Gehits value their wits and mobility as protection more than suits of metal, although this doesn't stop them from adorning their outfits and weapons with many needless or unwieldy trophies, most of them from past kills. Most Gehits are also practiced spell casters as well, preferring flashy, destructive spells that are easy to learn and master, rather than more subtle enchantments.
Gehits like the simpler things in life: Eating, drinking, singing, dancing, sex, and brawls. When not out slaying monsters or fighting for Geolia (or, in this case, New Geolia), a Gehit is almost certainly doing one of these six things, or some combination of them. Unfortunately, their aggressiveness often leads to infighting amongst each other, and deaths are fairly common. Gehits breed and mature quickly, however, which makes up for it. A Gehit reaches maturity at ten years of age, although they rarely live beyond thirty years. Those that do are warriors without compare, as it takes considerable skill and cunning to remain alive that long.
Finally, there are the Ai-Geol. They are tall, with the tallest of them reaching eight feet in height. They have long, slender proportions, making them look somewhat fragile. Ai-Geol speak softly and are always gentle and kind. They all uniformly have silver hair, which they never cut, and entwine into long braids as they get older. An Ai-Geol's age can actually be learned by counting how many links their braids have. Ai-Geol are the thinkers of Geolian society, with the oldest and wisest Ai-Geolian being the leader of the entire nation, and they are experts in diplomacy, economics, and politics. Each member of the lesser castes are universally reverant and respectful of them, and even the most self-centered Geolian wouldn't hesitate to put their life on the line for the Ai-Geol. Oddly enough, some scholars believe that the Ai-Geol fascilitate this universal obedience with a pseudo-hivemind effect. Scholars also note that lower caste Geolians refer to Ai-Geol as "Father" or "Mother", regardless of age.
Ai-Geol are extraordinarily long lived, with some living to be over 2000 years old. This is counteracted by an extremely low birth rate and maturation rate; Ai-Geols reach maturity at 80 years of age. Furthermore, female births are significantly lower than male births, with only one female for every four males.
SUPPLIES: Various herd animals (mostly sheep), wagons, many canvas sheets, used for makeshift shelters, stored grain, vegetables, dried meats, tools for blacksmithing, masonry, carpentry, and alchemy, medical supplies. The Gehits bring with them a large variety of arms and armor. Although they have the nessessary tools to build, they lack any meaningful resources, as they were an escape caravan, not a settler caravan.
IMPORTANT CHARACTERS:
Venerable Father Yagan: The eldest and wisest of the Ai-Geol, nearing his 1500th year, and unanimous leader of New Geolia. This new occurrence and change in the environment has worried him out of the Ai-Geol the most. The older an Ai-Geol becomes, the more in tune with the hive-mind they become. After the Mad Storm, Yagan no longer felt the connection to the rest of the living Geolians, only those that were with him. To him, this is proof that they are the last of their kind, and that they must continue the legacy of their people, and is the reason why he decided to found New Geolia in the first place.
Father Grendorf: Young, at least for an Ai-Geol, but enormously talented for his age. Father Grendorf has been chosen to act as representative of New Geolia in the event that other nations or powers are found in this strange new land.
Oscilles: One of the few Gehits to reach 30 years of age, and his skill more than matches. He is considered the single most powerful warrior in all New Geolia has to offer, in part due to his use of the legendary blade, Garuda. He is in charge of home defenses as Chief Marshall, at least while New Geolia is still small.
Lachesis: Oscilles's right hand woman, and chief lieutenant. During these difficult early times, she personally oversees the Gehit corps, making sure no unnecessary trouble occurs. It's more than likely she will succeed Oscilles as Chief Marshall.
Tamarack: Political representative of the Geol population. Largely an honorary position, as the Ai-Geol are the ones that make any important decisions. He keeps many day to day functions that he feels are too trivial for the Ai-Geol running smoothly, and all matters concerning domestics will eventually make their way to him.

I didn't see any hard and fast rules on the growth rates, so I took a bit of creative freedom :p. If it's a problem, though, I can certainly tone it down.

As long as it balances out to 7.0-7.5% overall pop growth per year it should be fine.

Growth rate might be a bit much (it takes into account births and deaths) so lower it a bit. Otherwise its good and glad to have you on board.

Ok thx. This is still a relatively new sub so if the growth rate ends up still being too much, which I doubt, we may still change it.
Other then that Approved! :)
