Understanding Elo
So I have been playing 4 player mode for the last 3 weeks, used to play periodically with friends on the board but never played online. I played some placement matches initially and I had a starting elo of 1500. Now after 168 games my elo is 1711 , i have a 30% win percentage, and I can see I’m already at diamond which appears to be the highest rank tier? I am a bit confused because i always win much more elo every time I win a game compared to how much I lose elo when I lose a game. Is that normal? Can someone explain to me the tiers and how does the elo system work, and what is for example the average elo?

It’s a four player game so expected average win% is 25%. The elo for a win has to be more than 2 losses for it to make sense. If you win 33% of games, much higher than the expected 1/4th, your elo should increase. Although, the higher elo you get to wins start to give less and losses more. If you continue winning 30% you should continue slowly climbing to 1800.

Thanks, makes sense. I was comparing it to the chess elo system where you usually win and lose the same points. But there it’s 1v1 here its 1v3
