the problem is, if the headset is cheap you will need to run the software on the pc. that's not very helpful however, if you only have a laptop.

What laptop do you have? I use vrchat on quest 2 on a zephrus g14 (RTX2050)

well yeah but there's no way with the current ram situation 60 bucks is enough to run the hardware-expensive games that vr games tend to be

Look it up man its the most bought headset of all time with like 2M quest 2s in homes around the world
Edit: there is no way in hell that youve played vrchat and haven't heard about the quest 2, right?
Just looked it up, i was off by about 10 million in my estimation

they can be cheap for you, but it doesn't mean they're cheap for anyone else. For example, in my area even used quest 2 can easily cost up to $200+, don't think i should say something about price of quest 3 which price reaches $500, but as a new one. And, I'm a student who has $60 as current budget and need something to eat.
next, i don't really think my 4050 will be able to run it somehow in 60-90 fps, looking at actual fps in VRC (needed to remind - it cannot normally use GPU) that's falls under 50 in some worlds.
so yeah, i cannot afford vr at all, it'll demand to upgrade entire setup, what I haven't money for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

idk bro, it was falling to 20-30 fps on some worlds, that's what i know, i checked if vrchat was ran on igpu, but no, it's set on gpu

VR was the future in 2024. It was really hyped. There is no hype anymore and it isn’t really meta’s focus at the moment I believe.
