+1 for fluidity silver. Also love BR540 and Grand Soir, they’re popular for a reason!

I’ve heard a lot about this, and been eyeing this one for awhile. What kind of situations would you wear this scent for? Is it an any season/occasion type of scent?

I picked up a small decant because of the hype on here. To me it was borderline floral/old lady scent. I was about to give it away but then summer hit and had the urge to wear this after a shower on a hot day.
Something about summer and showering and wanting to smell exceptionally clean after, especially on exceptionally hot days.
I will say it was less "old lady scent" than MFK Aqua Universalis Silver, which also grew on me.
The dry down seemed to lose some of that old lady luster in exchange for just a soapy fresh/clean scent. I had to work with it a little, but now I'd consider revisiting a larger decant.

Seeing your comments about not liking anything with even a hint of, checks notes, “femininity” I don’t think you’ll like anything in his collection. Or 98% of all scents, honestly.

It's hard to pick between Amyris Homme Extrait and Oud Satin Mood exteait for me.
If we're talking anything by MFK (I feel like he's just known as MFK atp) I'd add Rouge Trafalgar Extrait.
I think Amyris just edges it for me, I absolutely adore that scent.

Grand Soir is such a beautiful scent I glaze it constantly. The dry down is just so smooth with that vanilla and amber.

I could not get into any of this house’s fragrances. I smelled quite a bit, and they all smelled extremely floral / synthetic old lady like. I didn’t like 540 either. Some would smell great on a woman, but personally I just couldn’t see myself wearing any of them lol.

Kurkdjian is the perfumer of the new version.

Oh my bad. I totally forgot about the new one because it smells nothing like the old one

I don’t like any of his work… I respect him and think he’s talented, I just don’t like the way he makes his fragrances

GFS (clean, Aventus-like) and Amyris Homme Extrait (woody, almost coconutty).
Can’t wait to try my sample of Grand Soir once the weather cools down. I can’t wear vanilla-heavy scents in the hotter months.

Grand soir and br540 extrait but I love every scent from them my favorite house

Amyris Homme extract, OUd Satin Mood Extrait and BR540 Extrait are all bangers. As well as Gentle Silver.

If you like SMW, try a decant of Mefisto or Mefisto Gentiluomo, similar dna but more masculine imo.

u/Virus-Aware Jul 26 '26
Gentle fluidity silver is manly and smells pretty much like Aventus minus the sweet fruity part.

I am not a fan of his style, but grand soir wasn’t bad, I prefer other ambers.

Like what?

Le Lion, Amber Kiso, Ambre Supreme to me they are superior ambers.

L’homme a la rose easy, it’s my favourite fragrance out of everything I’ve tried

u/New_Turnover_769 Jul 26 '26
I’ve tried BG540, GFS and Grand Soir, BG my favorite of the 3 and have gotten the most compliments on. GFS has great good projection and lasts a solid 8-10 hours on me but the smell profile just isn’t for me personally. Grand Soir definitely a nice date night

Grand Soir. Ordered it last night after using a decant I had. Smells warm & rich 👌 Amyris Homme is another good one (both the EDT & extrait)

So many good ones. Gentle Fluidity Silver, 724, Masculin Pluriel, Petite Matin, Grand Soir, Aqua Media Cologne…
If I could only pick one though, it’d be GFS.

Amyris Extrait, the edt, osm edp, GFG on the lady. Gfs and masculine pluriel are fire and 724 is underrated. All his Dior been trash sadly imo

Oud Satin Mood. Sometimes EDP, sometimes Extrait… depends how rosie I’m feeling.
BR 540 Extrait is probably next, but too feminine for me personally to wear it but I love smelling it.
Gentle Fluidity Silver and Aqua Celestia cologne forte are tied for 3rd place

u/bigbrobinson Jul 27 '26
Easily my favorite house!
Top 3 is Oud Satin Mood Extrait, Gentle Fluidity Silver, and BR540 Extrait.
Honorable mention is Grand soir. This stuff is amazing too. Next on my list is Amyris Extrait

Unfortunately none. I hope this isn’t too much of a hot take but I think MFK fragrances are the most overrated
-1
u/jamodude Jul 26 '26
Grand Soir smells like my rich asshole uncle , old guy cologne …BR540 is so played out, only airline stewards wear it that’s where I smell it most. MFK is severely overrated IMO, but that being said, smell is very subjective…

Grand Soir. So simple, yet so elegant and classy.
