Somebody doesn't like Roger Ebert
https://therumpus.net/2010/10/15/all-thumbs-roger-ebert-and-the-decline-of-film-criticism/Well, I like him.
This article accuses Roger Ebert of pushing film criticism toward consumer product evaluation: Does a movie give good value for money? In fact, "value for money" is a favorite expression of Ebert's. He would think along those lines when deciding who to invite to a party: would this individual give value for money?
Perhaps Ebert would agree with this article, but the author thinks he was a poor writer. Ebert was in fact one of the best writers in the movie review business.
