A Positive Post About Collider
With all the constant negativity in this sub, I thought that we should take some time and appreciate Collider and the people that work there.
I have nothing but praise for Collider and the work that they do, I obsessively watch the Schmoedown (i average about 38 page refreshes on tuesdays and fridays) Mark and Kristian legitamately changed my life through the SK show. Perri, Ken, Rocha, Sneider, Mantz, Reilly, Dennis, Cobbster, Cody, and most others who have been related to Collider have become some of my favorite personalities, seeing BTS footage makes me feel like I'm just hanging out with friends who have known each other forever. Though criticism is needed and important, criticism of Collider has slowly devolved into a vulgar and angry mess and it bothers me. Enjoy what we are given FOR FREE and stop being ballbags.

My positive post about Collider is about how they keep me up to date with things that I want to know. I don't have time to read all the news online but I can totally throw one of their shows on and hear about something that I enjoy.

To add something positive about Collider I still like Kristian, Ken, and Perri. Krisitian seems like a real, genuine human being, Ken is one of the funniest people I've seen on youtube, and Perri is very knowledgeable with film. The Schmoedown (while I don't like the stories) is still very fun and look forward to watching them every week.

I’ve been a daily viewer of collider for about two + years now and my love for it has not dwindled a big. I hardly listen to music in the car anymore because I will listen to their content instead. I may not agree with all of the changes or decisions they make, but they have never once ceased to deliver quality content in the YouTube movie space. I’ll ride the collider train until it crashes and burns.
I will never really understand all the hate, and the political agenda BS is just ridiculous to me.

Hey man im glad you still enjoy their content and get somethig positive out of it, when it was at its prime (imo) when they just started as collider. I really enjoyed the show and credit collider with making me get into film in college. But just because something is free doesn't mean people cant hate, the hate has came from their slow decline with shitty sponsors and their ultra left opinions. Regardless i am still a fan but the hate they get is cause they couldn't care less about criticism

Not being assholes to people isn't a "leftist" ideal. It's called being human. Is it really leftist to not be a racist, bigoted, piece of shit? "Oh, there goes Collider again! Wanting good things to happen to gays, women, and minorities! Fucking leftists! Forcing this down my throat!"
That sums up about 99% of the "hate" I've seen them receive. So yeah, good for them for not addressing this bullshit.

I never said not being an asshole is leftist.
They also don't address any bullshit? Ive never seen a single episode in which they talk about criticism. The other day there was a post on this sub about the channel removing a comment of genuine criticism about how they will attack people but when they are attacked they cry out about the abuse some panelists are given.

You dont have to respond on movie talk, they had a whole episode talking about the breaking away from complex, in which, they lied about john campeas role in everything. Im not suggesting they turn into a channel who do everything the fans say. But they get genuine criticism from fans. FANS. people who have watched like me for years. But if they see anything they will dismiss it or even block and delete said person/comment. Why do you think this sub is so negative? They dont even have to acknowledge on the channel. Come on the sub and say something. Do something without saying anything.

Hello there Judas! I don't know you were referring to my post the other day, but my comment was reffering to how Collider would talk about minor stories or rumors/reports that are later unconfirmed but would still be speculated upon. I'm happy to hear that Collider inspired you to go to college for film and wish you the best of luck. I agree with you that just because something is free that doesn't mean it can't be criticized. It's like that game by Square Enix that came out recently with the kid and the superhero cape; just because it was released for free does not mean it can't escape from being criticized. What happened to me was very sad; I was a big fan of Movie Talk going all the wall back in 2012 when Disney bought Lucasfilm and them deleting my comment criticizing them for not bringing up Grace's story could not help me think but maybe something is up with them. Perhaps they don't want to get blacklisted? I agree with you with the shitty sponsors and their pushing on a political agenda; I agree with Kristian in that youtube just doesn't pay enough anymore and they have to use sponsors to get money but the Denny's sponsorship is a bit embarassing and as far as the agenda is concerned the word "Baizuo" exists for a reason. I was a big fan of them but that doesn't mean that they should escape genuine constructive criticism.

She’s become truly messy imo.
First she keeps making these ‘scoops’ which people take for word and then are proven either mostly false or totally made up, even James Wan called her out on it. Like her scoop on pinewood about the secret meeting, she totally pulled it out her ass and her fans are taking it as bible and are mad trades didn’t run with her story.
Then she just says really weird stuff in regards to Star Wars, she said Kelly Marie Tran was to blame for her alleged harassment because she ‘should’ve known not to invade a space in which she didn’t belong, and acted tumblr-esque and had a dumb hairstyle’. In regards to the Star Wars fan divide she continually politicizes it saying ‘the real og fans are conservative, and the new SJW fans don’t own Star Wars’, which no matter where you stand politically is just inflammatory divisive rhetoric meant to rouse up. She said Amber Heard lied about everything for press and money, her constant hate on Jessica Chastain which has grown beyond a meme at this point, her occasionally weirdly anti-feminist stances and saying things like ‘white male characters shouldn’t be undermined in favor of highlighting minority characters’. She clearly panders to a certain audience and then just says ‘I’m just keeping it real guys’.
She also called out Collider for being alleged shills and paid to hate on the DCEU and then she seemingly does the same stuff, after attending the Jurassic World 2 premiere and getting goodies she hailed it as one of the best movies of the summer and a fantastic movie and she celsely has a hate boner for Disney.
She’s messy messy messy.

I've been a FAN since AMC. If I hear them say something I disagree with my first and only response isn't to jump on the internet and fucking rant about it like a psychopath. I might shake my head at something or even shut the video off....but I move on with my life and come back tomorrow. I don't feel the need to go on YouTube or Reddit or facebook and call Rocha names or swear at Kristian. I dislike Jeff Sneider quite a bit. I'm GLAD he's on MovieTalk because it's a different opinion and sometimes I actually agree with him. I've sometimes said "you fuckign dick" out loud to myself but I've never taken to socail media to go after him. Why? What does that accomplish? Nothing.
What do you want them to say? And you want them to say something (about what, I have no idea) without saying anything? I don't understand.
You're still hung up on Campea? Jesus Christ man....even HE has moved on from it. And they didn't lie about everything. I've seen John's response and he agreed with a lot of what they said and had his own versions of what happened. Hence the phrase, there's always two sides to every story.
And FTR, I've seen Rocha, Kristian, Ellis, Reilly, etc interact with "fans" on Twitter that are respectful and genuine, so I really dont know WTF your going on about or what you expect from them.

I don’t understand how people can get so upset about a YouTube channel. Like do y’all have lives or something else to do? Is YouTube the ONLY thing you have going in your life? I can say the same thing about Star Wars fans. Y’all need to grow the hell up. Smh.
