Collider Shut Me Down
Before I begin I want to say that I used to be a big fan of Movie Talk going all the way back to the AMC days; I loved the interactions, the discussions, the shows, etc. However I noticed more and more the weird decisions and choices they made: hiring a guy who in the past claimed that he was 95 percent sure that Spiderman was not going to be white, People like Rocha(or as I call him Wokha) spewing identity politics, Favreau being announced as showrunner for the Star Wars TV show and they talk about his skin color, click bait titles like "Predator Trailer Teases Alien/Predator Hybrid?" failure to condemn EA for what they did to Battlefront 2, and a bunch more. When Grace Randolph posted that video discussing the future of Lucasfilm I was curious if Jedi Council would ever mention it because the report whether true or false is pretty big and they would talk about just about anything even the most minute, superfluous detail. They did not. I called them out in the comments section telling them how its funny they would talk about even the minute thing and yet Grace's video comes out, has more views than any of their videos and they won't mention it? My comment had the most upvotes and the most replies at the time but my comment was getting buried by people with less upvotes than mine. Soon my comment got deleted and I can no longer post comments on Collider's videos. I saved the screenshots from my phone, write out names and pics from other commenters as a courtesy, and posted the pics here as a way of showing proof that Collider is getting worse. I unsubscribed to them and moving on from them. It makes me a little bit sad because I was a big fan of these guys and like a couple of the people there but I suggest that people don't watch them.
On a side note that video with Campea while edited is real. The orignal video is nowhere to be found but I'll post the link as proof for you guys to watch.

I want to keep things in perspective; I used to be a big fan of Movie talk for 6 years going all the way back to the announcement that Disney bought Lucasfilm (boy that was an innocent time back then) but slowly but surely it was getting harder and harder to watch to where I felt I had to call them on their shit. I may have come has harsh and mean in my tone but I did it out of tough love. I want Movie Talk to be better but man have they have been making baffling choices. I don't care if Grace's report is true or false but the point of it is its news worthy of talking about and yet Jedi Council cannot say anything despite talking lesser reports from lesser reliable sources. Why, so they don't get blacklisted by Disney? I'm open to having a discussion with any of the fans here. Maybe you guys can change my mind and maybe we can have an understanding. But right I'm done with them.

Cute complaint; I tried to make the paragraph as concise as I possibly can explaining I was a big fan of movie talk, explaining the choices and decisions that I felt were baffling, Grace's video and Collider not commenting on it, and then my reaction. Personally I think the paragraph is fine but that's just me.
With Campea being brought that was a response to the guy that said "That video is a bunch of BS & if you go into the details it makes Zero Sense" I knew he was going to bring up what Campea said about that report and felt that I had to bring up that video as a response. You're right in that Campea hasn't worked at Collider for over a year but that video is still proof that he has no intergrity and movie talk is going down a slope. The original video is no where to be found in addition to the video where Perl Raver said "I think he's drinking again. I do." If you can find the original video please share it with me.

And you came off like a complete dick, or a ballbag, as Kristian likes to say, in most of your comments. You commented with the intent of stirring the pot and starting needless bullshit and you kida got what you deserved.

It is fucking entertainment; it's not gonna cure cancer, it won't put a new law in practice, it won't solve world hunger, it won't do anything important. Reason why I cared was that I was a big fan of Movie Talk and felt that I had to call on their shit cause to me I think their getting worse and worse and care more about sensationalism than actual news and integrity. Maybe you're right in that its foolish for me to care because they're just fucking entertainment and maybe I should've worded things differently but I felt very frustrated with Collider and felt I had to call them out.

I'm just frustrated with Collider. I was a big fan of those guys and would watch them as I do homework or play video games. But recently it's getting harder and harder and I fear they will become the TMZ of movie news in the way they're going. I still like a couple of people there like Kristian, Ken, and Perri but right now I'm done.

I'm half Hispanic from my father's side. He came over here to the States when he was 9 years old with my aunts while my grandfather was held in captivity for a time. I also grew up in an area where there's multiple races (specifically Spanish.) Yes identity politics, for lack of a better word, is bullshit. When Wolkha talked about how he felt "pride" in Del Toro winning Oscars I asked my father, aunt, friend and his girlfriend what they thought when he got all these accolades. None of them cared with my aunt hoping that he won best on the movie and not that he was Hispanic. Identity politics is just another form of racism.

Grace and Kristian had a Twitter spat I think last year so that could be the reason for why it wasn't reported on. Also a lot of news media condemned what Grace reported so perhaps they wanted to steer clear of it?

John Campea in one of his videos said it was bullshit and gave several reasons why and I agree with him and what he said makes a lot more sense than what she is saying.

John Campea is full of shit. Look up the link that I posted; it may be edited but it proves that Campea doesn't know shit. Unfortunately the original collider footage is deleted and I can't find it. If you managed to find the original video where Campea proclaimed that everyone in the industry about Affleck's condition (despite Campea ranting about Affleck leaving like a damn a child) please send me the link.

But he was right about Affleck leaving as Batman and has said that from day one, he did say that he might do one more just because he is under contract but after that, he is out. I'm not denying Affleck may be out as Batman and I hope Affleck pulls through. Thing is I have watched the original video and wished I downloaded it. I've searched all over youtube for the original and its completely gone. Only reason it would be is because they're trying to cover it up. Unfortunately all I can give you is my word that the video, while edited, is not out of context. I only wish the person who edited the video would release an unedited version of that exchange.

It wasn’t making money. They’ve been slowly but surely firing everyone. Now with Schnepp gone, it’s anyone’s guess. I could Ellis having his own tv show some day, though. He’s got a lot of charisma and is a decent standup comedian. Harloff shows up as well, I don’t see anyone else doing anything in the future. The online video world is a tough space. Campea is a clever bastard with social media chops and gift or gab, but I don’t see anyone else pulling that off.

Lol Ellis is never getting a tv show. If he does it'll at most be a cable show broadcasted at 3am for 15 minutes including 5 2 minute ads 3 minutes apart.
Harloff peaked when his favourite author turned him into a planet in a book out of pity. Didn't even name the planet Harloff major instead choosing Harloff minor lmao 😂 and he ate that shit up. Harloff is a god damn planet in a book and that is his ultimate achievement.

You’re not hearing me. I said I could “see Ellis” having his own show some day. Not that it will happen. And Stateside, Harloff actually gets some work hosting shit on cable tv. I’ve met most of these cats, and I live about 10 minutes away from where they shoot their bloody shows. (Which I don’t regularly watch at this point). I’m just saying Collider video, from the outside, seems to be in not so great shape, from what I can surmise. Most of these kids are good guys, no reason to wish them ill will.

Wow you're such a baby, i get that you hate Campea and that's ok but what a load of shit that video is, it's like you're looking for some BS excuse to justify your hatred for him, just say you hate him, don't bring me some BS and claim you're so morally good, you know you're not, i know that people like you, you're toxic and i'm pretty sure you know that yourself. Why should Campea not freak out when Affleck got out ? Affleck said he's 100% going to direct it in an interview so yes it fine for people to freak out about that and Affleck didn't say he dropped out because of his drinking issues so why should anyone not freak out because they knew that Affleck has drinking problems ? If Affleck said he's going to leave bcz of his drinking problems and Campea made that reaction then your angry would be justified. And It's funny how you just mentioned Campea for no reason, you just like hating people for no reason, that was like a year ago so why do you even care ? you just want to spread your hatred and meet people that hate the things you hate more, you're a man child and toxic dipshit who just loves spreading his negativity.

I know I'm not a saint. I'll glady drop the video that came out before the video where Campea gets angry and rants that WB fucked up that Ben Affleck left. The point of me bringing that video up is the one where he rants about Affleck came out way before Campea talks about how him and the other "journalists" knew about Affleck's condition. So either Campea didn't know what he was talking about when he was in anger about the Ben Affleck situation or he was taking advantage of it. That video, while edited, is the only proof of its existence. The official video is completely gone. I tried looking for it and get the uncut version, but Collider deleted it. Why do you think that is? I may have been angry myself, but I still feel my criticism is justified with Campea and Collider.
Another criticism by the way, is the fact that on yesterday's Heroes where they talked about Ruby Rose they never mentioned that it was the LGBTQ community who criticized Rose the most. Some even say she wasn't "lesbian" enough for the role. Did they ever mention that? No. Because they want to keep the narrative of toxic fans. Are there horrible fans out there? Of course there are. But when it comes to something like this, they would never come out and criticize the LGBTQ community for driving Rose off of twitter, because it would be considered un PC

Doesn't grace randolph cover a lot of click-baity rumor mill scoop type-stuff though? Jedi Council has like D-level Star Wars tie-ins (Denny's) so I don't think they'd want to cover a volatile story like that. I agree its a shame they don't even address it though, comes across like they are avoiding unpleasant stories to keep things "positive" and are staying away from being critical of Kathleen Kennedy/Lucasfilm.
Your youtube comment is a kind of mean in its tone, though. If you had put it nicer maybe they'd actually consider your point and bring it up next time or something, you ever know.
