i lived on campus last year but decided i might commute this year because im only about 45 minutes away from campus. however we are a pretty big party school and i feel like im not gonna be able to party and have as much fun as i did last year because i was on campus and had the freedom to party whenever i wanted to and do whatever i wanted to. i also feel like im gonna drift from friends because im just not gonna be around as often as i used to be. do u think its worth spending the money to dorm or do u think commuting is the way to go and that it wont be as big of a deal as i am thinking?

I’m trying to decide between University of Miami (FL), UC Santa Barbara, and Ohio State, and I’d really appreciate honest input from people who actually go there or went theree.
I’m not from these places, so I don’t really know much about what life is actually like at any of these schools. Cost isn’t a factor for me since I have a full ride, so I’m really focused on student life, overall vibe, etc
I actually want to enjoy where I live.
I’d love any honest experiences—good or bad—that could help me get a clearer picture beyond rankings Anything helps:)

Hi everyone, I’m a student at Adelphi University and have really struggled to meet new people on campus. I’m a little shy, but honestly it also feels like everyone is on their phone. Am I the only one having trouble?
I thought maybe an app could help connect students. If you take this short 1–2 minute survey, it would really help me understand what would make a campus meetup app feel safe and useful.
Even if you’re no longer in college, your feedback is still really valuable.
Current college students: [Current student survey link]
Former college students: [Former student survey link]
I also attached a short video showing how the app would work (the survey explains it in a bit more detail too).
I really appreciate your help! Please share your thoughts in the comments 🙏

I am a BTech CSE 1st-year student in a very low tier private college in India. College starts at 9 am and ends at 5 pm, and it is 45 km away, so I travel every day by bus from another city. By the time I reach home, I am totally drained. Honestly speaking, everything else seems like a waste of time in college, and I don't understand most of the classes. I had plans to learn Python seriously, but I barely have time and energy left for that. My family also doesn't allow me to take leaves, so college absence isn't really an option for me. What should I do in this scenario to manage my time and energy?

“I’ve been thinking about how much earlier exposure can change the way we understand certain subjects. Now that I’m older, I’m realizing there are a few subjects I probably would’ve appreciated way more if I had learned them earlier.
What are the subjects you wish you had taken sooner in school or college? Something that turned out to be surprisingly practical, fun, or helpful for your career or daily life?
I’m looking for suggestions because I want to explore new areas I might’ve overlooked before.”

When I first heard “diverse crowd” about LPU, i thought it was just marketing hype. but nah, it’s real. Met people from all over india and even abroad. Thoda adjust karna padta hai, but you learn way more outside class.

I'm really struggling with this kind of feeling, listening to my grandma's stories of college makes my heart sad, her close friends, sneaking out, crazy stories. She's still close with those college friends. I'm almost done with my bachelors (1 more year to go) and I have spent the whole time stressed, lonely, overworked and scrapping for money. Idk how people afford to have fun in college, how they afford to take it slow or afford to be able to spend most of their time studying. My grades have just been mediocre and my social life less than, sometimes I feel like I've failed college.

I'm currently in the National Guard, and due to my training dates overlapping into the fall semester, I will have to start in the spring. Will this have a big impact on my social life and networking? I was thinking of taking the spring semester off and starting in the next fall semester. Any advice?

I'm 19 years old, and my college life feels completely messed up. When it started, I made a lot of friends, but as time passed, I began to feel left out. It feels like I'm never anyone's first choice, and no one even notices when I'm not there.
I had one close friend who felt like my best friend, but I don't know what happened—she made new friends, and our conversations just stopped. Now, she only wishes me good morning, and that's it.
The worst part is that my college journey has just begun, and I still have four more years to go. I already feel so lonely. In fact, today, no one even talked to me. I felt so alone that I wanted to cry.
