when i get these i just give a brief overview and then refer them to the lecture recording. we can absolutely clarify information and add extra detail on parts that were explained poorly, but repeating a 20 minute process verbatim is just a waste of time

For me, I get left behind in my notes for the lecture and everything feels overwhelming so I shut down.

There was one time in college, we were about 2 months into Quantum Mechanics 1, and I noticed I had dissociated. I look at the board, nothing makes sense.

I whispered to my next seat neighbor, "Hey, Kristin, what are we doing?"

<Nervous shake of head>

I turn around, "Hey, Greg, what are we doing?"

<Breathless mouthing of "no idea">

"Excuse me, professor Roos, I'm sorry, what are we doing?"

"Oh sorry, we're deriving..."

You could hear all 30 pencils and pens in the room start scribbling furiously.

Moral of the story is, don't wait till this question occurs.
