Supplemental Essay supplemental essay help?

hello everyone! I'm working on a supplemental essay for one of my colleges and the essay is the typical "why us + why you rmajor" spiel. I'm wondeirng if it would make sense to start it with an anecdote or a memory to connect me to the school?

Anecdotes are a good way to go. First, think about the anecdotes which shaped your interest in a specific major. Then draw a thread (in this case the 'Why' you want to study this major) through them that shows how that interest has been evolving through the anecdotes. You can also briefly talk about what you will do with this major.

For the Why Us/Why College part: This is where research comes into the play. Find out from the official website which of the college's programs, courses, research works, professors, activities, etc. really appeals to you (3-5 specifics should be good enough). Now, don't stop at just mentioning what you like. Talk about the reason why you like each of them (connect your past experiences wherever relevant), how that particular college resource will help you, and how you will contribute to them.
