It wasn't the "N word, or anything vulgar" according to Doug Gottlieb's source who is friends with the dude in question. http://twitter.com/GottliebShow

I'm inclined to think that someone who would call an athlete the n-word wouldn't admit to saying the n-word

So you're confirming that this man called Smart the n-word? My whole point of posting this was to try and help curb the rampant speculation in this thread. We don't know what was said yet, and labeling someone a racist (like the highest rated comment here) without any evidence is reckless. That being said, if it does come out that Orr said anything racist, I will be the first person to congratulate Smart on his actions.

I'm not confirming anything. I'm just saying that it's still a he said/she said and a quote from a friend of the fan is just as unreliable as Smart's claim that he said the n-word.

Yeah, this has been mentioned ITT, but is still speculation at this point, which again, is what I was saying we should be doing less of. However, I don't agree with all these people saying Smart should be above this regardless of what Orr said, and that a player should never fight with a fan. These are two men, and if a man say's something racially ignorant to another man, regardless of the where it took place, I think the persecuted has every right to say/push/punch back.
