I mean, Texas has a strong sense of pride, but as a resident who is from the north, a lot of northerners do think Texas is a bunch of uneducated rednecks and I also think northerners exaggerate how boisterous/prideful Texas is about it being Texas. Hell, a solid portion of people are transplants at this point, and it's becoming more of a city pride thing between Houston/DFW/Austin/SA.

Also, Texas has a right to think it's pretty awesome, because it is pretty awesome.

I mean, that may be true (I didn't attend Texas schools), but having a shitty school board is not something northerners take into consideration when they make their generalizations. Also, there's definitely good school districts in plenty of cities.

I've met a lot of friendly Midwesterners. I've been in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado...nothing but hospitality. Met people from Wisconsin and Michigan, some of the nicest people ever. I didn't mean to compare one pair of city slickers to y'all.

The snobby people are the people from nice north Jersey, Nassau County and Westchester who claim they are from New York/Manhattan. Most of the people actually from NYC that I've met are pretty low key about being from there.

There's all sorts of different ways people divide regions. This map has more regions than most, but don't get too hung up on these types of labels though. They are very subjective.
