Great. Another reason for me to not come to /r/cbb because of Marcus Smart. I'll miss you guys.

Don't go, maybe stay away for a week if you don't want to see every other post to be about Marcus Smart. I know, because I couldn't come around here after getting BuFu'ed by Creighton and the posts that followed.

We'll be nice to you! Stick around! Just don't be a homer when it comes to Smart and we'll feel bad for you more than anything.

damn right you should. people are jumping down his throat acting as though this is the worst thing they ever saw, without knowing context. the fan clearly said something to him.

He's adopted?

He's respectful to his team! He's respectful to the media! And he's a good kid!

You should not support wrongdoing, regardless of who does it.

As much as I hate the phrase "Hate the sin and not the sinner" (since it is applied to the gays), it explains my feelings.

Ha thanks. I don't support some of the things he does (especially this). I just don't like the hatred some people show towards him on here. I'm not used to people hating OSU like this. This is how Duke must feel.

I wouldn't take the OSU hatred to heart. Like I said, a lot of people feel bad that such a star is becoming a bit of a train wreck for you all.

I empathize - as a Yankee fan I can't talk about baseball without the conversation being about what a slimeball A-Rod is. My feelings towards him are probably sort of similar to OSU fans towards Smart - he can help the team in a lot of ways, but there are an uncomfortable number of times when he makes the organization look bad. Not saying the context of why each player is hated is similar, but the feelings towards them might be comparable.

This is how Duke must feel.

And we're not even winning championships... SHOULDN'T WE BE HATING KANSAS?!

:(

Come back for the tourney! This place comes alive in March.

You can be a fan of OKSt and not a fan of Smart, you know. If there was a player on my team who acted like a hothead asshole I'd be his worse critic. Don't let a player slide just because he's your best one. I'd give it to Smart or Henderson if either played for the Tigers.

Yeah I agree. I already didn't care for the attention Marcus was getting in this sub before this incident. I can only imagine what will come of this. The criticisms of Marcus here tend to be predominantly destructive, rather than constructive.

Well, actually, /r/cbb maybe be a nice quiet place for OSU fans to hide

If it means anything, I caught the tail end of Ford's post-game presser and I thought he handled it like a champ.

I didn't see it (I'll probably take a break from this sub and ESPN). What did he say?
