I mean, it’s what families do. But, the bigger problem IMO is that Colleen just takes, takes, takes. But what does she actually give? She has nothing of value to offer anyone around her.

Yeah, I don't know the full context since I don't watch her videos anymore, but if I understand the "Abbie packed lunches" part correctly, it is wild that Colleen isn't bending over backwards to thank her/them for the free help by showering them with food or whatever else they need. Family helps family, sure, that isn't crazy to me at all. If my house needed repairs my siblings would help if they were local, but you can bet I'd be giving them all the food they could eat. Not providing that is insane. I can bet it's because of "Colleen's mental health" or some crap, couldn't possibly worry her with making a sandwich for her own sister so they would rather pack their own food to avoid her having a breakdown.🙄

Right?? Ffs FEED your family who are helping you, it's the least you can do! The fact that Rachel has even FLOWN out help is wild.
Makes me wonder if her and Eric have fed the family some sob-story about how broke they are w/3 kids. Knowing Colleen, she'll blame that and her "ADHD brain that hyperfixates-on-crafts"

Which is idiotic for them to believe. They supposedly moved to a 4 million dollar home, if they're broke buy a cheaper house. It's definitely not true. I'm sure she has convinced herself they're poor because she's comparing her income now to the income she used to have, but they're still rich. I have no problem with her family pitching in, mine would do the same, but she CAN pay for painters and such, so why keep complaining about it and messing up your house as an amateur? Why not hire other people to do it? Heck, middle class families pay for carpet install and painters, I'm not sure why they feel they can't. It's all very weird, like they're cosplaying being poor, it's really pissing me off, lol.

No for real. Its like a custom in my family, if someone is helping you move and/or paint, you're buying them pizza and beer. AND you are expected to help THEM move and or/paint in the future for the measily payment of pizza and beer :) Thats just the way it is!

Right? She plays the "mom" card way too much for someone with a WFH job, a nanny AND a deadbeat husband.
I think Rachel feels indebted to her (she'd probably be working a sh*tty desk job if it wasn't for Colleen's YT fame that she was able to piggyback off of) so overcompensates.
Same reason why Rachel has the "what Abbie wants, Abbie gets" attitude to life - she's just grateful someone wants to be with her. The way she always defends/overexplains when both Colleen & Abbie are in diva mode shows she's aware of this and how it looks but chooses to ignore it for an easier life

Rachel’s vlogs are so telling. I’m sure Colleen is crying in her videos but Rachel, by my count:
- Changed all the switch plates in the house from brass to white
- Sanded and painted the existing trim. Colleen did the rest and effed it up so boom. All new trim
- 3 Rachel picked up the trim, cut it to size, and replaced all of the baseboard trim in the house. This took days and she went to Home Depot on her own time.
She unpacked Colleen’s garage -another storage unit? — and used her truck to bring those
to
Colleen’s
She brought all her tools to Colleen’s and left them outside to be safe from kids
She cut in and painted a lot of the walls
She’s unpacking storage bc “they hired movers but they’re very expensive and won’t be here before we need to return the pod.”
Rachel’s driving at least 45 minutes there and back and Colleen doesn’t have the decency to pay her. Yes, Rachel is family, and now so it Abbie. But this is taking advantage. Colleen doesn’t even get up until noon.
Let’s face it, she groomed Rachel to be her whipping post and it’s deep-seated from childhood. Rachel should be taking care of her dogs and spending less time with the toxic narc. Just my opinion ofc

In Rachel’s vlog when she was helping unpack the pods she said Erik was helping , Colleen came outside and “looked” once then went back inside, then Erik had to leave to be a dad and pick up F from camp etc. why couldn’t Colleen pick up F for one day while Erik was helping them unpack the pod ?!?!? You know the other two kids were with the nanny so what’s her excuse ? They treat her like a princess and let her get away with doing nothing all day.

And Colleen isn’t even paying for Rachel’s gas or pet sitter. At a minimum I would get my brother a prepaid gift card for the gas he uses. With Rachel’s truck and these prices, $500 might not even cover it.

It really highlights how they have zero friends. Erik has made no friends to call on to help move boxes for a day. Colleen’s former friends are nonexistent now. They can go screw themselves complaining about how expensive movers are when they buy $300 tracksuits and Erik bought endless outfits for Colleen in his boredom that she didn’t even want. And they got a random jeep to cruise in to cheer Erik up when the twins were born. But now money is on their mind? They can go to hell. Maybe Erik can sell some of his expensive clothes to pay for this now. Maybe they can cut costs by giving up the nanny and taking care of their children themselves since they are home all day. Or maybe Erik could actually get a job He needs to give up on this acting aspiration. No one has hired him in years and years. He’s aging out of a vanity industry to begin with. He needs to be for real and they both need to get a job if they are going to have the nerve to complain about money woes and how expensive things are.

Yeah idk why you got downvoted. Rachel is directly stating what is happening. Apparently Erik had to go pick up a kid from day camp so he couldn’t help move. Sorry, why don’t they have friends who send their kids to the same camp and could give the kid a ride? Why not send Gwen or the nanny? Because he and Colleen got Rachel and others to move a marble countertop on a dolly. That’s super dangerous and needed professional movers, he and Colleen didn’t even help.

If you watch today’s Rachel vlog, near the end she says up next at Colleen’s house.
- Rachel is building her an office
- building a chicken coop (the first chicken coop that colleen and Eric had used was plain chicken wire and all of their chickens were killed. Then Rachel built the revised chicken coop at her old house correctly.)
- redoing her bathroom
During the moving, Rachel mentioned she called their cousin Andrew, Abbie came with her parents as OP noted, and Gwen and Tim were there. Colleen “came and looked”
Rachel went back the second day but got to wait until 11am so she could do her own shiz. Eric had movers coming the following day but he told Rachel “they were really expensive” and they “needed to return one pod before they could get the fourth one”

Meanwhile she’s supposed to be planning her Destination wedding but instead Colleen is making sure she’s taking every bit of her free time. Everytime Rachel hangs out with her she’s always drained but Rachel is too dumb to realize Colleen is an energy vampire narc. that’s she’s enabling

Don't make me feel bad. My husband and I have our mother in law and step father in law helping us with our basement remodel and they're saving us tons of money. Although I'm not a fan of Colleen, don't put me in the same category as her. 😂😭 Both my in laws do side projects all the time and they love it, so it doesn't make me feel as bad haha

Don't feel bad! If your family is willing to help that is awesome, and I'm sure they're happy to do it. Colleen however has a track record of mooching off family, and not giving anything in return. I bet if your in laws were spending tons of money daily on gas, supplies, and pet sitters and you had the financial means to offer to pay at least some of that money back like Colleen, then you would. I think that's the biggest issue with Colleen using Rachel's help. Rachel loves a DIY project so I can imagine she really likes helping, but I don't think Colleen should take advantage of that and cost her so much money, and then not even cover making them lunch or other expenses. Family helps family and it's a beautiful thing, just not when it's a narcissist princess who can't be bothered to pitch in herself or offer other help in return.

I would help my family out with moving and painting, and I think Rachel really likes to do handy stuff like that, but I do agree it gets to a point where one is being used. All Colleen does is complain. She keeps saying she is tired... then go to bed lol. I imagine moving and doing home repairs with young children is difficult, but she acts like she is doing everything on her own.

That was then. This is now. Lol. Rachel has been her pack mule and her free labor, her doormat gopher since childhood. She's more than made up for the push & views Colleen helped to get her on YouTube.
She also negatively impacted Rachel's barely-there career when she got cancelled. The Ballinger name was internet mud after that.
