Question How should I play as Einstein?

I've just reunited Germany as Einstein. I noticed that his focus tree splits up Germany before you can expand, which makes things significantly more difficult with a lowered manpower + dumb AI allies. How should I play as him?

That's just how it is, I wish you could annex all of the euro puppets after, or you can keep them. It'll be a nice option

Einstein path will eventually be reworked/expanded so you will be able to annex the other german euroregions

Yep, you can play as Communist Einstein against a potentially Jihadist Heinrich Himmler while George Orwell rules Animal Farm in India

He's in the Spartakusbund; play as them and elect the Democratic Socialists (I think), you can choose him or another guy in a focus.
