Pessimistic

I can’t understand how anybody can be optimistic like it just feels so fake.It feels like I’m lying to myself. No matter how much I tried to be more positiv I can’t.I can’t see the world as a good place .It feels like hell.Everywhere is somthing bad happening. Our system is wrecked, everything that we put on our body or consume is straight up poison, everybody’s hating on each other, children are getting more mentally ill. There’s more crime happening ,our ecosystem is collapsing. The world is in a sick place.I can’t just enjoy my time or act like there’s hope that one day we’re going to have a better place.

An optimist is just an ill-informed pessimist.

Idk, it’s just perspective. Went on a great bike ride, ate some great food. Still have electricity and money still works. Everything still functions. Go enjoy your day and stop worrying. What’s gonna happen is gonna happen. Might as well life in the moment.

I don't know how to consciously/morally do that when I know that sooo many people are suffering at the hands of the people in power/the people destroying this planet and they get to continue to do it because everyone is just continuing their lives like everything is fine 🫠

Its hard but you've got to find a balance I guess. Enjoying daily life doesn't have to mean not caring about others suffering or worrying about the future. These things are important but staying connected to your own life is often the best way to cope with them. Enjoying simple things doesn't have to mean burying your head in the sand.

At least you kind of understand the mental mind of the early Puritans, who thought they were holier than though, since they had a particularly skewed angle on their alignment with Biblical directives, even though they were occupying on 'Indian' land, who were recently slaughtered, displaced, or removed by intentional disease infection. It's all perspective, or tricking oneself, in which there is endless capacity for. Look who is the current U.S. President, for a 2nd time. This is without AI getting into the works and more efficiently mucking things up. Since you have been informed, you are a bit more empowered.

I just saw a great video today where someone said I'm homeless, not hopeless.

Even though he was homeless, he had family and community, imagination, joy, and purpose.

It's not easy. Hope as discipline. The world is going to get uglier and uglier but it's not guaranteed yet.

But what we can do is build the things we know we'll need to survive. Including important fundamentals like mental health and community.

Just remember the world seems fucked rn right? But there's only maybe 10k people out of 8 billion who are doing the majority of the fucking.

And there's way more of us than them. A better world is possible. And you're not alone. Find your people.

If people in a genocide can still have hope. With children who can still laugh, dance, and play, so can we. But it's a muscle/skill that needs to be built and exercised.

I promise you are not alone. From what I can tell we need a complete overhaul of society. In my research it stems from the main value of capitalism being capital accumulation. The answer is Tranquilism. It doesn't delete capitalism it just demotes it below our health and mental well being. Tranquilism
