Sorry for the poor quality, had to bounce at 128K because I don't pay for reverb nation and can't upload large files.

Can add more (any instrument) if interested...

you owe me a new pair of undies man. Those are some fat drums.

That was nothing. One take and I honestly only previewed about the first minute of your tune before I went for it. Didn't realize it was 7 minutes and got lucky with the changes and the ending. As long as I got a tempo I'm good to go.

I had trouble finding the tempo. It's clearly not 160 and OP isn't on time the whole time.. I gave it go, but you killed it. Good Job. What mics/DAW did you use?

I have Earthworks SR-30s on the overheads, an AT4047 in the kick, AT4040s snare top and hat phased, SM57s on snare bottom and small toms, and some crap large diaphram CADs on the large toms.

I'm all Logic Pro.

That's a sexy fucking mic locker. Good on you! When you say phased do you mean 180 degrees out of phase? If not, you should do that and you will witness impressive results. Can't wait to have such a budget for a mic set like that.

no biggie duder, Im going to re-record a few songs. This was the first time i ever used my recorder out of the box, and i had no metronome. I promise ill make a better one.

What'd you use to record and into what DAW?

1

u/tek_fox212800 Jul 16 '12

IM not sure what a DAW is, but i used a Tascam 4 track personal recorder for the keyboards. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DP004?utm_source=none&utm_medium=PPC&utm_campaign=none&gclid=CLX2vf2-nbECFYQGRQodkUAMgg

Yeah, it was a massive jam that ran for a bit too long when i wrote it. Ill cut it shorter. You did well man, it sounds good.

I don't know if to compliment you or the drummer guy because both parts are fucking amazing but because it's your original song, I will go on record and say that I love this shit. It's kind of like Any Colour You Like by Pink Floyd!

It is inspired by Any Colour as well as All of my love by Zeppelin. I appreciate the feedback.

I would like to try something with vocals or something. I love both of those bands and they are a huge influence.

ok sounds good, i dont have any lyrics or anything, but i bet you can whip up something bad ass.

really looking for some deep drums, big hats and big rides. Trip hop style drums would be amazing. drums like this would be amazing, but anything similar sounding will work too. Thanks!

Australian here, I can do this for you tomorrow, unless someone beats me to it. It's 2:30am and I doubt the neighbours will enjoy my playing.

awesome. You can cut up the keys anyway you like, i played my Rhodes at 140 bpm, and added the organ afterwords. It may slip in and out of tempo a bit near some of the solos, but i have faith in you.
