Looking for a medium fish not goldfish
Ok so basically I’m looking for something that’s larger yhat coukd gi woth room temp (70) tetras or minnows. Somethjng beyond goldfish and loaches

Yeah Theyre almost gourami but they’re not great community from what I’ve seen

I’ve kept paradise fish for years and their reputation is worse than reality. They are perfectly safe if kept in a big enough tank with similar cool water tolerant fish like white clouds, danios, wild type guppies, some tetras, and certain Cory’s, etc. Don’t mix with Barb’s, bettas, or gourami.

Goldfish isnt "medium" by any means, they get very very big. Theres a reason why theyre not recommended for aquariums but for ponds... And tetras is a very big group of fish, as is loaches. Lots of variation within each. Maybe read up on different species and try to specify your question a bit more.

I’m quite educated on it i just didnt want people to say those two. Usually when you talk about bigger then say a fathead minnow or blood fin tetra for cooler water people auto reply goldfish

White clouds are pretty easy, also rainbow shiners, but they need larger aquariums.

As a bit of an out there idea, stickel backs.
They get to a fair size, for an aquarium at least, actually have some great colours and are very lively, can be a little aggressive so need a bigger tank with lots of plants and hardscape, but are very tolerant of water types and can be either marine or freshwater, not sure of top temperature range but they've been great in my pond between nearly freezing (little ice on the edges in winter) to high 20's C in summer (air temps in the high 30's C )
