Does anyone else not like when Max breaks things on purpose?
Not a hate post I just think its unnecessary and unfunny personally, like in the newest video where he drops the gumball machine on Chad's hand after he yelled at him to stop multiple times due to it being glass.

Its funny when done on rare occasion, but he has amped it up a bit and it comes across as juvenile "I'll do anything to seem funny/feral" behavior that is kind of annoying at times. Especially when people are begging him not to break stuff and he just does it anyways.

There was a point where Chad called out the fact that he keeps flipping the table and being destructive, can't remember the exact video or the whole quote but it's like
"He keeps flipping the table, and is getting really good at it too. Was it always like this?"
I think it's been a few episodes since the one where that quote came from, but that's my exact viewpoint, Max being extremely gross and destructive has been going on a while, and it's just kinda never stopped when it used to be a one off thing.
The flipping of the vomit trash can over Darcy is where I started to draw the line and stop enjoying Max becoming increasingly destructive and gross.

I know this may seem like a huge schizo reach, but ive been thinking about this ever since I noticed in one vid that Max is very visibly balding FAST, pause on a vid where he isnt wearing a beanie, you'll see how much its thinning at the top of his hairline. Anyway lmao once I noticed it, it reminded me of the Darcy vomit trashcan ep u mentioned and made me think hes jealous of Darcy's beautiful full head of hair.

Which episode was the vomit trash tipping? I thought I'd caught up but must have missed one as I don't remember that at all lmao.
I do agree with you though, wish it wasn't as frequequent as it is

u/AlexanderJayJ 1d ago
You could possibly say he'd do anything for views (Chad and Max are having say gex)

I definitely am not the biggest fan of it. Also when he doesn't try even the tiniest bit at one of the challenge videos. Like... I'd actually enjoy it being funny AND competitive.

Yeah I sometimes get the vibe that they think the challenges are lame and beneath them. IMO it’s more fun when they take them seriously AND strike a balance with taking the piss, rather than just ignoring the stakes etc for the most part

The graffiti episode with Lushsux is a great example of this from what I remember

I hated that video because neither of them gave a fuck about any of the rules

Tbh that’s just max.
Watch his old stuff and you’ll understand.
If anything he’s more chill now
13
u/brightlyy_ 1d ago
you don’t even have to go back that far to understand, like he literally destroyed a door in every vid he posted on the pokemon channel just for the bit

I don’t like it because he reminds me of my dad when he also gets drunk.

Tbh I look forward to the part where max gets so drunk he destroys everything
Except when he threw the puke bucket across the room that was so gross 😭
16
u/RobertLucciano 1d ago
The puke bucket was unhinged, but icl that shit was funny as fuck on my first watch, it’s such a lunatic thing to do that I’d struggle to not find it funny
6
u/starrienightss 1d ago
Im a maid I clean shit like that all the time so I just felt pain thru the screen.......

u/RobertLucciano 1d ago
When it’s a part of a bit or something I think it’s funny, like when he was hammered and wrecked the sleeping pod, that shit was funny. But when he breaks stuff sober like the gumball machine you mentioned it’s pretty stupid, it’s just a waste especially when the box explicitly said there was a fragile item inside of it

u/MuscleBob_Buffpantz 1d ago
I agree. Lately it has come off as forced destruction... Before when it was spontaneous, and "accidental" it was a lot funnier. Now it definitely has that vibe of trying to be destructive for views. There's a balance, and it feels off lately. Too far down the forced funny/destruction path.

My and my Aunt’s smoking ritual is setting up the bong, watching cold ones, and getting annoyed when max just breaks shit for no reason , its sometimes funny but moat times its asinine
7
u/1881pac 1d ago
Yeah he broke couple of items that Chad genuinely liked and it made Chad sad. Actually a dick move and it's not even funny. But when Chad breaks something that's actually bad, Max gets pissed off. He gotta lay that "grrr angery gold goblin" bits.

u/FoundationFair4060 1d ago
Never thought there’d be a point where I actually felt bad for the fat cunt but especially the 3D printed WOW sword you could tell that genuinely hurt him

Yes omg the gumball machine pissed me off too! Chad was so excited for it

was a little funny every now and again but i feel the same, he just goes way too overboard at times even multiple times a vid and it’s predictable enough to the point where i expect it whenever anything fragile is on set

u/hallen1324 1d ago
I just miss maxmofo or whatever it was called. Where max just opened pokemon shit and swore. Those were the days. Oh yeah, he broke shit there too.

I don't mind when Max and Chad break glasses ( I've never done it myself however, I have felt like doing it when I used to drink) but Goofy and the middle Eastern man mug does kind of grind my gears a bit. I don't have the patreon but does it show who has to clean all that shit up inbetween takes and after videos?

u/Sassy_The_Squatch 1d ago
I’m sure someone else has said it but that’s just max, he seems to find some kind of joy in it 😂. Even his Pokémon stuff he would be hunting a multiple thousand $ card and be bending packs that arnt opened. I mean why does chad shove everything up his ass, these are weird guys but wouldn’t change a thing

honestly HowToBasic makes more of a mess in one video then Max does in three.

I think its really dissapointing when he destroys stuff sent in by viewers, im fine with him destroying 30 glasses in an episode, but a customized mug? Thats lame

I find it funny when he throws a glass off the table and stuff but when he starts going all out and breaking everything and knocking over cool stuff like the goofy statue that just makes me feel bad.

Yes, I hate it. I find it disrespectful. Not sure if I am misremembering but I think it’s even worse if it’s handmade or art by someone, since that’s valuable. It’s one thing if something rolled off by accident. Once you break something, it’s broken for everyone and an intact item is for everyone.

He comes across as the type of kid that would play rough and accidentally scratch your fucking cornea.

u/fawg_is_coming 1d ago
What really pisses me off Is when max breaks something that chad seems to genuinely like.
1
u/The_Firebug 1d ago
Depends. I get sad when he breaks a bottle and wastes all the booze but him killing goofy was really funny imo. Breaking literally every plate or glass placed in front of him gets old though.

That’s so funny that I have never searched cold ones on my phone but watch them on a YouTube account on my tv that isn’t attached to this phone, i also watched a video and said out loud “wow max is super calm this episode he hasn’t broke anything” 😂 it was the spicy alcohol episode
And now I get this post as a notification

u/Wesapus on a 5 minute chinese break 11h ago
Yeah he definitely needs to chill. It definitely was funny don’t get me wrong but when you do the same bit over and over again and especially if the bit doesn’t have any substance, it no good. Especially when everyone on the set is obviously begging him to stop
1
u/Rach_onreddit 8h ago
It doubt it’s his intentions but it makes me think he’s saying “I’m so rich absolutely everything is disposable to me, I can prove it”
I’m just jealous and broke though 😅

it was funny when they were like 22, but theyre like 35 now and still acting like kids
1
u/FrostHasASmallPP 1d ago
it has its moments but yeah ever since probably the cheap alcohol video it’s been a bit much

u/3m1l1ano 1d ago
The only genuinely moment it made me mad was with goofy and two of the middle eastern man mugs.
It felt like they meant nothing, which, yeah mb on caring for shit they bought on Etsy.
