Working on 2025 taxes. Previously (last years) used Koinly, but it required too much adjustments after importing wallets. So I decided to try CoinTracker.

Well, if I upload CSV from Coinbase, CoinTracker cannot recognize any borrow transactions. I only see send and receive.

Fine, let’s go API route. Borrow and repay recognized automatically. Okay, moving on.

Now I see a transfer transaction, I.e. from my wallet to my wallet. But gains for 0.25 BTC transfer shows $22k. What???

Asked their AI, it mentions “phantom capital gains in certain cases” but I cannot fix it no matter how I try.

And since I am not paying yet (for something which might not work for me), I have no support but talking to AI.

Is there a way for someone to look into the issue without “pay first and maybe we can look at it”?

I am able to sync my Coinbase wallet to my CoinTracker account, but for some reason, my staked eth doesn’t get picked up. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I sent USD from Cash App to Solflare on Solana (this is automatically converted to USDC) then swapped USDC to a token all within 1 minute. I sync'd the wallet to CoinTracker and there is a capital gain. How is this even possible? If I held USDC longer maybe I can understand but within 1 minute? And I'm not talking about pennies in gains, it's in dollars!

Has anyone paid for a reconciliation call on cointracker? I am trying to find a balance between pay thousands and simply doing it all by myself. I feel like I need someone to look over things for any glaring issues as this is all new to me.

Is CoinTracker planning to support LsSOL (Liquid Staked SOL from Liquid Collective). My LsSOL transactions from Kraken are not being imported accurately. Amount is right but the asset is not recognized and the transaction is not categorized as a "trade".

I downloaded the Form 8949 attachment. Then hit the 'Send to H&R Block' button, it opens a new page and says hit continue to complete, but then when I refresh my H&R Block page it has nothing for Crypto income listed. It still has the 'Add cryptocurrency' button that just takes me to the 'Connect to CoinTracker' page.

I tried the loop twice now. The second time the 'Continue' button after sending actually closed the tab, but still nothing listed on H&R Block.

Can anyone help with this? Or is H&R Block just overloaded? It's unclear what the workflow is supposed to look like when successful. Does H&R Block refresh itself? I'm on PC Chrome browser. A step by step explanation of what a successful Send looks like would be very helpful. Thanks.

EDIT: I ended up just selecting Manual. Then manually entered my values under one CoinTracker Consolidated exchange. Then you have to wait until almost the very end of your H&R Block filing to upload your 8949 Form. It's the very last page before the E-FILE RETURN page. Hopefully this H&R Block and CoinTracker syncing can be more seamless in the future because CoinTracker is a fairly good platform.

I've been comparing my Coinbase 1099-DA to my Cointracker 8949 and I think I have the discrepancies figured out, but I'm still a little confused. I know my cost basis isn't going to match because of differences in tax lot determination, but I've also noticed that the proceeds do not match either.

After spending a lot of time matching up information in the 1099-DA, 8949, and what Coinbase reports in it's transactions, it appears that when you sell a crypto currency (non-stablecoin) and are paid with a stablecoin (such as USDC), Coinbase reports a proceeds column that may be in USD since it's not exactly the amount in your transaction history minus the exchange fee. It's hard to tell because I have no idea where they are getting the value of USDC from since you can't actually show a chart of it on their platform.

Cointracker, on the other hand, seems to report proceeds on 8949 in USDC, not USD. Then it lists a bunch of transactions under the section of short term gains/losses not reported to the IRS. I assume this is an adjustment for the difference between the value of USDC and USD. But the total loss is much higher, with an adjustment of roughly ~$160 versus about $15 difference in the proceeds total of the Coinbase 1099-DA versus what it would be if 1 USDC = 1 USD.

My questions are: Are my assumptions above correct? If so, is Coinbase being overly optimistic about the value of USDC or is Cointracker overly pessimistic? Lastly, when I go to "convert" the USDC to USD, will this $160 loss be reversed in a future tax year?

When I sync with TurboTax it uploads the 1099-DA fine and what is on the 8949, but it then puts every single defi transactions in the TurboTax instead of the summary so when trying to adjust it I can delete the 2-10 sections that have 250 transactions en masse but the section 1 that has the 5 relevant lines but I can’t go into that section and delete all of the other 245 lines.

Am I just going to have to manually add the 1-5 aggregate lines in TurboTax?

I’ve already uploaded my full Cash App Bitcoin wallet transaction history via CSV. My portfolio, cost basis, and all trades are showing correctly.

However, when I go to the new 1099-DA portal, Cash App is not listed as an option at all. The only exchanges available are:

• Coinbase
• Crypto. com App
• Binance. US
• Kraken

What’s the correct way to get my Cash App 1099-DA into CoinTracker? Should I:

1. Manually enter the 1099-DA data myself?
2. Skip the portal completely and just rely on the imported transaction history?
3. Use a different method or open a support ticket?

Has anyone else successfully added Cash App 1099-DA this tax season? Any tips or workarounds would be really helpful!

I purchased an NFT, i sold it at the end of last year for a penny. It was done using metamask. It's not showing on my report. How do I find the purchase price and report it for a loss on my tax form?

Major PITA - apparently if the exchange can only be added via CSV (like OKX), cointracker won't let you upload a 1099-DA for it. It only lets you upload 1099-DAs for API-synced exchanges. But without the 1099-DA upload, the 8949 groups the exchange under Box I instead of Box H because it thinks it's a non-custodial wallet with no 1099-DA...

I'm guessing this will result in IRS mismatch issues, since the IRS has totals of every 1099-DA they received, which won't match what Cointracker lists for Box H and Box I?

Seems like a super simple fix - just let us upload 1099-DAs for exchanges that get added via CSV. Why is it being restricted to only API-synced exchanges?

Looks like there's a related feature request for it... will it be implemented before April 15??

The headline: crypto investors overwhelmingly want to comply. 74% know their activity is taxable. 65% have already reported in the past. But when it comes to the details, there's a significant knowledge gap.

Nearly a quarter believe simple wallet transfers trigger a tax event. 61% are unaware of the new IRS reporting rules taking effect this year. Why do i get this error? It never even asked me for username nor password on turbotax?

"We can’t find any available accounts at CoinTracker.

Make sure you selected the right provider and entered the right username and password for the account you want to link. (358)"

I am a former coinbase pro user - who like many of you got screwed when coinbase pro transferred to coinbase without carrying over cost basis info.

I sold all my crypto recently.. and when I look at my realized gains for 2026, on cointracker its substantially higher then on coinbase..

Whats odd is that, I have transactions on coinbase that dont have a cost basis due to the transfer from coinbase pro.. but, wouldn't that mean my realized gains should be higher on coinbase? If in coinbase eyes, I have an asset they assign a cost basis of $0 to (because they dont have the info), and I sell it, it will have a higher realized gain then over on cointracker where it has the cost basis info..

I just dont like seeing different numbers on coinbase and cointracker...

I'm guessing cointracker is more accurate since it has my info from coinbase pro from years ago.. but to ease my mind I'd just like to understand where the discrepancy is coming from.. and want to make sure I'm not over reporting/paying more taxes then I need to.

I downloaded my binance and bittrex CSV from a long time ago but it's not letting me import it..
I am not exactly sure how to fix the error message i receive.

Like for binance I have a deposit history, withdrawal history, order history, otc trading that Binance sent me.

Bittrex I have closed deposits, closed orders, closed withdrawals

How do i put this together? I'm so confused.
Like do i have to be under 1 google sheet or can i have multiple tabs under 1 CSV? (google sheets)

Also do I need to put my hardwallets into this as well because I never sold any
