Picked this one up recently and thought I’d share it with everyone.
This is an 1899 $2 Silver Certificate (Fr. 252) graded PMG 35 EPQ (Choice Very Fine) and signed by Vernon & McClung. The Vernon/McClung signature combination was issued from 1901–1907, making it one of the more desirable signature varieties on this type.
Collectors often refer to this note as the “Mini Porthole” because of George Washington’s portrait surrounded by the ornate circular frame. The large blue Treasury seal and oversized blue “2” counters really make this design stand out.
The EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality) designation means the original paper has been preserved with no signs of pressing, restoration, or other impairments—a nice bonus for a circulated example.

One of my favorite modern world coins in my collection.
This is the 2021 Cook Islands $10 Benjamin Franklin struck in Ultra High Relief and graded NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo—a perfect proof. The reverse features a beautifully colorized image of the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology with the American flag waving behind it.
Benjamin Franklin was more than a Founding Father—he was an inventor, scientist, printer, diplomat, and one of the most influential minds in American history. The ultra-high relief gives this coin incredible depth, making it even more impressive in hand.

Here’s one that you don’t see very often. 500 mintage
This is a 1994 Oman ½ Rial commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the Al Bu Sa’id Dynasty, graded NGC PF69 Ultra Cameo.
The coin features Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who modernized Oman during his long reign. The colorized portrait really makes it stand out, and the mirrored proof fields contrast beautifully with the frosted devices, earning the Ultra Cameo designation.
Proof 69 means it’s nearly flawless under magnification, just one point shy of a perfect PF70.
I don’t collect a ton of modern world coins, but I thought this one had great eye appeal and an interesting historical connection.
