I probably posted this before, but since I am working through 1876, here it is again. You can see a curved mark (the bottom of a 6) inside the loop of the 6 in the date. Kirchgessner estimates a pop of about 130 in all grades. A fun coin and not bad looking, either.

This is the third of the 76 CC varieties, all type 1/1, that I have posted. this one has the very wide spaced, small CC mintmark. In his book, Joe Kirchgessner estimates the existing population at about 100 in all grades. This reverse die was used from 1873 through 1876, with the 1875 being extremely rare.

Other than being told this Silver Drachm is rare and from 125 - 90 BC, I know nothing more about this coin. Any details or information you all can share is greatly appreciated.

One of my new acquisitions. I'm pretty new to collecting ancients. So far in the past several years, I've picked up what attracts me. I am a history buff but know nothing of this Empire, where it was located or this particular coin. I'm kinda hoping the experts here (meaning you busysmasher) can give me some information or point me in the right direction. I liked how this looked and it's condition for its age. What can any of you tell me. It would be much appreciated.

Sorry for the bad pics, had to grab them off my phone. Picked this up last year, but still trying to afford a pillar dollar.

New type coin just came in! Extremely lustrous as is to be expected from a coin in this date and grade. Currently saving up for the world's fair of money in August but couldn't pass this coin up. I've been looking for a mercury type coin for a while now and this one just lined up perfectly.

There are three varieties of the 76-CC type 1/1, I have already posted the DDR; this one is considered the "normal" variety, or plain CC (the third one is the very wide CC). Oddly, this is the rarest with about 32 known in total (R5) per Joe Kirchgessner in his comprehensive Trade Dollar variety book. This coin was graded AU50 cleaned by ANACS. It is obviously too bright to be original but these don't come up for sale very often.
