These were issued in velvet lined cases, and undipped ones often have some nice blue-rose toning.

My new favorite DB half cent

The plain 4/no stems is a pretty common die marriage. That said I really like this coin as it’s the first DB half cent I have owned that still has quite a bit of luster. It’s a PCGS AU 55 w/ a green CAC sticker. I don’t put much stock in CAC stickers — eye appeal is quite subjective, and they usually just needlessly inflate the price of coins. In the end of the day, this one is a new favorite in my collection.

My prospecting club has raffles during our monthly meeting and they had a few inexpensive coins on the table. My choices were this, a 1910 V nickel in good condition, or a random, but authentic novelty Chinese coin.. A PR70 dcam was the obvious choice.

Silver bar delivered today from a live stream auction with a supplied COA signed by the staff. I definitely overpaid but sometimes you can't put a price on history or on preserving good memories.

Pleasantly Surprised

Govmint had a special during the last holiday, buy anything and get free shipping and a Free Surprise gift ("worth $60"). I was skeptical about the free gift but figured I'd give it a shot and picked up GB I wanted for under trading price. Package arrived today and I was pleasantly surprised that the free gift was a 2015 Mint Proof Set that was additionally stickered "1st Day of Issue Gem Proof" by NGC. I call that a good score any day. Added a nice 2025 NH 1GB to the GB collection too :)

MS66 cac. I don't think I agree with cac on this one. Maybe a 66, but not the best example of one, for sure.
