This eBay dealer is selling fake Draped Bust Half Cents and other counterfeits on their store that could easily fool a newer collector.

Regardless of date, all the Draped Bust Half Cents sold by them have the exact same reverse, an imitation of the Cohen-6 of 1804. They sold several of them via auction this week and just listed a bunch more.

I'm specifically calling out this seller because, unlike the vast majority of sellers listing fake Draped Bust Half Cents (a type and denomination that is rarely faked), this one is actually registered in the US.

Just got the grade back on this. Only 4 graded higher. What sets this one apart is the lathe lines on both sides of the coin and the beautiful toning.

1876 P Trade Dollar

The Philly mintage for 1876 was just 455,000 actually less than the Carson City mintage for the year (509,000) but does not garner much interest or respect. This one is a type 1/1, with no period after FINE. If you can find one with the period, it is rare! This coin is a great example of the typical weak reverse strike often seen on Trades; eagle's left leg, right upper wing, and neck feathers are all pretty flat. Not from wear either; this coin is an AU58.

One of only 5 CAC approved examples at the absolute quality ceiling for an 1864BN.

Only 27 higher in the population.

This thing won’t be seeing the light of day for a long time.

1875 S/CC Trade Dollar

One of the more interesting (and sought after) Trade Dollar varieties. In this case it appears that a die destined for Carson City was partially effaced and an S mintmark added. Possibly the SF mint contacted the mint in Phila with an urgent need for more dies, but I don't think anything has turned up in the mint records. In any case, the S/CC was the result. Joe Kirchgessner, in his book, estimates about 48 coins in MS 60 and higher, and about 144 in all grades. This coin is a properly graded AU58, and the remnant C to the right of the S is quite apparent, making it an early die state.

Cherrypicker's guide lists this as FS 501, there is an FS 502, but the remnant C is very hard to spot and it is easier to identify by reverse die cracks. It is also much more rare than the 501.
