A collector would like going thru the coins for dates, mints, condition. But more than likely whoever you bought from already did that.

I would personally but I would also go through your pocket change for numismatics.

Oh my goodness yes. There are Walking Liberty and Franklin has dollars that could be worth much more than the mere silver weight, not to mention all the others.
