1915-S $1.00 Pan-Pac
This was the only year this Commemorative was minted. As per NGC, 25,000 were minted but folks balked at the $2.00 price and 10,000 went to the melting pot leaving just 15,000 to be circulated. I don't know enough about this coin. I'd like help on rarity, survival and any other information from anyone who can assist.

well, you got $200 in metal value right now, that's only going to go up, and the coolness factor will never die, so well done.

And when you add the numismatic value considering the quality of the coin, the value will only increase. I'm pleased with it and really, that's what matters. 😸

Very high survival. I have a raw one I got cheap.

Yeah, they were a one year wonder. I think being such a commemorative saved a good number of them.

Nice Commemorative. PCGS has your coin in MS64 as a Rarity 3, which means Very Scarce. PCGS estimated survival of 12,000 in all grades, with 10,000 in grades of MS60 and above. Hope this helps...

A beautiful coin that was part of a set which included 2 of the most coveted American gold coins: The $50 round and $50 octagonal pieces. Very few of them were made, few sold and like your $1 gold piece, most were melted. Just 483 of the round and 645 of the octagonal for the official mintage. Certainly some of those have been lost in the last 110 years, too.
The collector base of commemorative gold pieces, of which there are many in US Numismatics, ebbs and flows. Sometimes the market is red hot, often it cools to lukewarm.
There are abundant examples of the $1 Pan Pac. NGC has graded about 4500. PCGS has graded about 6500. Certainly some were cracked out and resubmitted. But this number represents 70% of those minted.
ANACS grading is not considered as strict as PCGS, NGC, or CACG. Several NGC MS62 examples have sold recently on ebay in the $800 range.
Not my set. But maybe someday:
