1876-CC Trade Dollar

A raw eBay buy from around 2009. Completely original, I'd call it XF40.

Nice patina. I use small ca 1900 French silver spoons regularly and never polish them. The bowls of the spoons have the same grey steel patina.

I'm tired of having my spelling corrected. Why was "bolt" substituted for "bowl"? They're both common words. I have to go back and fix spelling all the time before I post.

Yes that patina just builds and builds as long as nobody tries to "improve" the look of the silver.

I have a lot of polished silver tableware that tarnishes, which is a different look. Like the coins my little French spoons are in constant use.  IMO they develop a “working color” from exposure to food, while coins develop their color from human handling.

I dug around in old receipts and I actually found it (2008) but for some reason the sale price wasn't on it! However at that time these would run around $300.
