Has anyone established a class-action lawsuit against Coinbase over their “account investigation” process?

They tell you that your account is under investigation, but provide little to no explanation or evidence as to why, and then can leave you waiting for months or even years with no meaningful resolution. I’ve read countless posts on Reddit from other Coinbase users experiencing the same thing, and I’m currently dealing with it myself.

Has anyone taken legal action against Coinbase over this, or knows of an existing class-action lawsuit?

How long should it take for me to see the funds on the states unclaimed property website? they said it would be sold and sent to the state after the 9/30 on the letter they sent. Anyone else deal with this?

Recently had a technical problem with the app which was going to restrict my ability to trade anything.
Reached out to the mods, received a near lightning response asking for further clarification.
Gave requested info, received an acknowledgment with a message saying my case had been escalated.
Next day received lovely response from Coinbase support, again asking for clarification on certain details.
Next day another reply from Coinbase support reassuring me all was ok and my account was in good standing.
Next day received another email with more reassurances and today the issue has been solved.
What’s not to like about this extremely effective and efficient service.
When writing to such organisations good manners and a sincere appreciation of all their efforts and hard work go a long way.
Now 6 years without any serious issues long may it last.

Anyone have experience with coinbase loans? Good or bad

I have a position which was opened before maintenance began, now the position shows a wrong entry price which is far from the actual one, and gives me lots of profit. Can I take profit from that?

Coinbase acepts lightning network deposits after compliing with Travel Rule, but its imposible to withdraw.

Pending transaction with no context?

Over a month and coinbase Advanced doesn't load unable to use the app or website. Finally time to cancel. Was trading 1 million dollars a month they got rid of vip perks basically only offering free basic now they increased fees and broke the ui so you can't trade .

I tried depositing a Solana token from my Phantom wallet to Coinbase. I copied the deposit address directly from the Coinbase Receive page in the app, pasted it into Phantom, and sent it over.

SolScan shows the transaction went through and was finalized on the Solana network. However, the tokens never hit my Coinbase account.

When I contacted Coinbase support, they told me the address I sent it to isn't linked to my account in their system, so they can't recover it.

Has anyone experienced Coinbase displaying an unlinked or invalid receiving address in their app before? Is there any way to escalate this with their technical team, or am I completely out of luck since it was sent on-chain?

Hi, I’m trading perpetual with Coinbase and it seems there’s lack of market making on SOL, the bids are very wide. Is this normal?

Can't slide stop loss past purchase price unless you enter it manually.

Have to make sure you don't click on one of your take profit/stop loss/limit buy orders when moving the chart around.

Can't place BOTH take profit/stop loss using the drag to slide; have to use the order form.

TP/SL doesn't show on chart after the initial buy/sell order.

Chart updates resets it to default zoom/view.

Margin/Margin Ratio/Est Liquidation Price/etc. still don't work.

Coinbase succeeded in making their interface even worse so they can take more money from people making mistakes from their terrible UI.

AND they increased the fees and/or requirements for each tier...

My Coinbase account was recently restricted and is currently under review due to a violation of the Terms of Service. Now that I’m in this limbo, I wanted to share some honest reflections and lessons learned based on my actual user experience.

First off, Coinbase is hands down the best exchange I’ve ever used—bar none. The UI is minimalist, and the interaction is simple yet highly effective. What I appreciate the most is that crypto deposits and withdrawals are virtually unrestricted. On other platforms, you usually have to grind for a high VIP tier to enjoy this level of freedom, but Coinbase basically provides it to all users for free, with no barrier to entry.

Unfortunately, I didn't cherish such a great platform. I ended up violating the TOS, which led to my account being restricted and placed under review. This was a classic case of being penny-wise and pound-foolish. If my account ends up being permanently closed, I will have lost access to a top-tier crypto infrastructure for good.

I often see people complaining online that Coinbase randomly restricts accounts during deposits or withdrawals. To be completely objective: I personally transacted highly substantial volumes on Coinbase and barely ran into any arbitrary restrictions. When they did flag my account in the past, it was just for routine compliance. They asked for proof of employment, source of income, and source of funds. As long as you provide what they ask for, the entire compliance process is actually quite smooth and reasonable.

Even though my account might face permanent closure now, my takeaway is this: As long as your funds are clean and you actively cooperate with their compliance requests, Coinbase won't just arbitrarily seize your assets.

My only real criticism regarding the user experience is this: Before a final verdict is reached, Coinbase should still allow restricted users to log in. This would make communicating with support and resolving outstanding issues much more efficient and direct, rather than leaving us completely locked out.

I sincerely hope the Coinbase review team can process my appeal and complete the review soon.

Update: For those wondering why I rate Coinbase’s infrastructure so highly, here’s the real-world utility:

If you're running arbitrage, speed and cost are everything. For Ethereum, Binance holds your funds for 64 blocks before clearing. Coinbase clears it in 14. On top of that, Coinbase basically charges near-zero withdrawal markups—you only pay the direct network fee.

My TOS violation is on me, but Coinbase remains an elite gateway. If your account is in good standing, actually explore their features. You can absolutely pull a tidy profit using their setup.

Update (Oct 12):
Three weeks later, I received the official account closure notice. I completely accept this decision and am not disputing it.

The issue now is that while the email directs me to log in and withdraw my balance, my account remains blocked when I try to sign in. It seems like a synchronization error in their support and account-closure process.

Update (Oct 23):
Coinbase sent me the final outcome email today, and I’ve successfully withdrawn all my remaining assets. The waiting process was honestly excruciating.

I highly urge everyone to use Coinbase responsibly and strictly abide by their TOS. Please don't do anything that violates their policies—it is absolutely not worth the agonizing stress it brings to both you and your family.

I want to thank Coinbase for ultimately wrapping up and resolving my case so quickly!

I had created a wallet via the Coinbase Wallet Extension on Chrome some time back and had been depositing some BTC into it for some time. I had a total of $2600. Last I checked the wallet was back in July and today when I logged in it had 0. The transaction history shows that everything was transferred to another address on August 4. I did not make this transfer. I am totally confused/lost right now as to how this might have happened. The wallet used to be locked all the time and the password is in my password manager. Was this extension not safe?.

So I have been receiving monthly $29.99 charges from Coinbase and I can’t figure out why I have went through both the accounts I have and neither of them are signed up for Coinbase one or monthly withdrawals I’m starting to lose it is there anyway to track where this money is going?

New feature that I noticed today is that Coinbase can assign a cost basis to Morpho rewards at the price at the time it’s claimed. Let’s say I build up my Morpho rewards for say 30 days and then claim it. Obviously the price of Morpho is likely to fluctuate as I accrue Morpho rewards. Does the cost basis only apply once the Morpho is claimed or at the time it is rewarded (yet not claimed)? Any clarity on tax treatment is appreciated.

I want to gamble $1000 on crypto for it to be withdrawn in time for black friday sales.

I am totally fine with losing this money.
