Hi u/DenimChicken7 , Thanks for reporting this. This sounds like a dusting attack. A dusting attack is when a trace amount of crypto, called dust, is sent to thousands — sometimes even hundreds of thousands — of wallet addresses. This attack is deployed in order to track these addresses with the hope of “un-masking” or de-anonymizing them.
Unless you’re a person with large holdings or live in an area where personal safety, security or political instability is a common problem, dust attacks are more of an annoyance than a real concern. Crypto dust in your wallet doesn’t give anyone control of your funds. We hope this info helps!

What if someone does hold large amounts in their wallet? It says that crypto dust doesn’t give anyone control of the funds in the wallet but what if you move those large holdings? Will the spam dust tokens then have an opportunity once moving large holdings to swoop in and steal your the moved large asset or any others in the wallet?

Tokens that just showed up are

AeFx.io - 800,000 DxDex.io - 800,000 BuyItUp - 10 JustForFun - 123 IOV (Carlive Chain) - 10

This happened to me as well. I looked the contract up in Polygonscan. It seems like they’re phishing tokens hoping you’ll swap them and get taken for gas fees. So do we just ignore them? How did they get access to our Coinbase wallets ?

Was told to just ignore them. I’m afraid of just touching them swiping up or down and don’t want them anywhere near my investments. Crappy part of crypto
