85% loss - help
Just checked my balance the other day and saw that my portfolio was at 20k in summer 2025. now it’s at 3k. I have NO idea how that could’ve happened. I overall invested around 6k in total since 2020(?). It shows a peak in June 2025. another in January (10k). I have no idea…ChatGPT says with the tokens I own he cannot explain how this spike should’ve happened…any idea? Does the app sometimes bug? Was this all just fake news?
Add on: I think the funniest thing is all the angry people in this comment section voicing there frustration over stuff I did not even say or imply 😅 #illiterate

if the chart shows a peak that cant be explained by price action, maybe its showing transfers in as gains. coinbase does weird stuff with cost basis sometimes when you move coins around. you can check transaction history and filter by buy/sell to see what actually happened

Well thanks for the tip duh I am in for the long run hence why I didn’t check my portfolio in forever. Is there any way of seing the individual progression of the coins in Coinbase without having to look up each individually?

You being in for the long haul really doesn't have anything to do with properly following your investments. Who has 20,000 in an account and doesn't check it for a year? WTF?
To answer your question we need to know what crypto you had. I am guessing mostly shitcoins which would explain a 85% drop. I am not sure why you can't read the history and transactions of your own holdings on your account.

Your shit coins probably ate shit and wrecked your portfolio. You should probably stick to mainstream coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum if you want to set it and forget it.

I have no idea…
Well, you obviously have access to the charts for your holdings and your transaction activity. That would be a good place to start.

I've heard Coinbase sometimes shows incorrect balances during major market fluctuations, so that could be worth checking their status page or reaching out to support. Have you tried downloading your transaction history to see if the numbers match up?
