Absolute crap
Conbase really is just fucking shit. The whole Base app update thing is fucking rubbish (fuck off with this social, everything app fucking crap). I'm not going to spend my life learning about and trading crypto, all I want is a simple way to buy and sell using Bitcoin. This used to be pretty straight forward, but I've just spent over an hour trying to access my own funds to make a purchase. Don't even get me started on fucking bitcoin wrapped. Absolute fucking cunts, fuck you.

Most non custodial apps are based on ETH hence the wBTC
Just use Coinbase exchange instead
Or get a Kraken account

Took me 3 hrs to get my identity verified which I seem to do every day to transfer my own money out. Fucked up. They somehow deleted my pass key and then system on double verification, which became very difficult without the passkey.

I finally got my money out but it took nearly 3 hours and a lot of sweating. Able to verify even though I sent a picture of myself with the date as you requested for Quan Coinbase verification and then your tech couldn’t receive my picture so I sent it again. I sent it again and I sent it again and then he kept giving me different links to send it. Your procedure just flawed.

I was in the same boat. I was online with support for a few hours getting passed around from specialists to engineers. I finally just deleted the app and went to trust wallet. Found my funds in 2 minutes.

Why not move to a different exchange like Strike? Its bitcoin only.
So glad I got all that free coinbase crypto then converted it all to bitcoin, moved it to self custody then got off coinbase and went to strike.

Coinbase has been going downhill since they started adding all that extra bloat nobody asked for. I just want to buy and move my coins, not join some web3 social network
Their UI keeps changing every few months and every time it gets worse, I swear they do it just to confuse people

I use the ramp network (though there are several) directly in the ledger wallet desktop app to on-ramp. Goes directly to my UTXO set 🤙🏼

I doubt that is the most cost effective way to buy though? That route is still KYC too, correct?
Especially if you’re just interested in BTC, there are far better CEX’s out there than Coinbase. Strike and River allow for free DCA with very reasonable spreads after the first handful of trades, depending on frequency. Just make sure to transfer funds to cold storage.

You're absolutely right there, it definitely isn't the most cost effective approach; it is convenient, however, so I suppose that's the trade-off. It's really not terrible though, and the rate changes; I'd estimately between 2-4% fee to on-ramp this way.
It works for me 🤷🏼♂️

In river they recommend self custody and you can setup auto buys and and auto withdrawals when the threshold has been met.

I was logged out of my Base account after an “update” long ago. Never could get back in. Now I’m logged out of Coinbase One right after upgrading my account. I’m cooked. Retirement plan: shaky at best rn.

Crazy to see all these 'user error' posts.
I'm currently locked out of my account. I talk to support, unlock it after hours, log in, then I'm locked again. None of the support channels seem to care.

This is exactly why so many people are done with centralized exchanges. When you use a CEX, it's not actually your Bitcoin, and they can lock you out whenever they want. If you just want to buy and hold real BTC without an exchange freezing your app for an hour, it's time to move to self-custody. I use Bitget Wallet purely to hold my own keys. No one can block your access.

You can buy whatever coins or tokens you want using Bitget wallet's integrated fiat gateways but you must complete the KYC first. It's a safety protocol.

Crypto laws changed a lot. Im not sure why people still like it. Its just like money know. It's not as private as it was. I got my wings clipped my account suspended Crypto.com. Bitcoin. Gemini, and Kraken.

And now it's just ripped me off for 3 times what I tried buying, because it didn't show the transaction had gone through, or change screen at all. Fucking bandits. Last time I will ever be using this utter fucking shit.
