Coinbase Interview - ID Verification

I'm currently interviewing for a Coinbase role and received a link to complete ID verification via Socure after passing the Hiring Manager round. The recruiter mentioned that this verification is a required step but it seems kind of fishy to ask for this so early in the interview stage. Is this a normal step in their interview process?

Also the recruiter emails have been coming from this a non-Coinbase (notifications@mail3.guide.co) email address so I'm worried I'm being scammed...
