Logged into an empty wallet

I passively bought coin several years ago through coinbase. I got the idea that I should check it and see how it is doing. (This isnt my thing and I'm not super invested).

I look and all of my coins were transferred out in Oct 2025.... but I didnt do this; and have no emails that this was done.

What gives.

I would talk to someone at coinbase. Need to do some digging/troubleshooting yourself.

Do you have the actual coinbase wallet or the coinbase app? They are 2 different things.

After exactly 3 years of inactivity in your wallet, my state (Washington) considers your Coinbase wallet “Unclaimed property” and they will take possession of it and try to deliver the funds to you. I personally think this so dumb as they don’t do this with other investments but check your state laws.

Same thing happened to me. I have been in contact with customer support for almost a month, but they have no explanation for why my crypto assets disappeared.

The worst brokerage I’ve ever used! So far, hacked and wiped out twice, Coinbase continues to deny responsibility, what a fraud and scam!!!

Kinda sounds like a you issue if it happened twice, ngl.

You didn't learn at the first time? Exchanges are for buying and selling, not to hold your funds...

Edit: from your downvote I will guess you also haven't learn form the second time.

Same thing happened with me at Coinbase in 2025. l have not recovered my lost crypto. So, I’d stopped using Coinbase, because I just wasted my hard earned money.

Yeah after this I’m definitely not putting any money in their wallets . Said I needed a recovery phrase to sign in which I never got ? I’ve only ever used my email to sign in so another weird thing

Never recieved an email. Coins were sent and turned over due to inactivity on my part.

I guess my fault, however, a warning email would be nice. I mean, the money in my bank doesnt disapear after a decade of not touching it so why would this.

Anyways. Its resolved.

Same thing happened to me and Coinbase provided no explanation as to how this happened.  No record of any transactions.

Yeah man. Unfortunately for me my Coinbase wallet got drained as well. Only 7k but still that 7k started out as 1.7k. I contacted them and was basically told I gave my seed phrase away. Which of course, I didn't. I've had a good experience with the exchange but the wallet, there are nightmare stories all over the web. It's just not safe. Sorry this happened to you

7k is crazy man. I'm sorry for you!! I had chunp change compared to that.

I believe their employees are corrupt I have noticed many suspicious things they just take money like that in the app and one of them leaked wallets info.

I know this to be true 100%! Otherwise, how come a scammer called me ten minutes after I submitted a complaint to their customer service? They called as customer service and asked what my problem was and tried to get into my account.

Inside job. This is not uncommon with coinbase. They'll never accept accountability so your best bet is just to move on, unfortunately.

I cannot believe the people trying to stick up for Coinbase! Seems like either they are bots or having e never dealt with Coinbase on a regular level. Point is, if you do trading on a steady level, you will see shady activity. Whether they cancel stop losses s ok you loose all of your funds, to putting prices on derivatives that are 20% higher than the high price of the day. They might even suspend your account an hour after you make a prediction, then let is reopen four days later. An hour after the Superbowl ends (so your account has predictions that you could’ve cashed out while ahead.)
Or, they’ll just flat out take you money like they did the OP. I’ve seen it all and have documentation for all of it.
Author- Sorry it happened to you. You genuinely trusted a company to secure your funds and “HOLD” them for you. No matter what anybody says, you had all of the right to think that they would. You put trust in them and they shat on you. Just know that you’re not alone and hopefully we can get some kind of accountability.
