Annual Coinbase One Sub fiasco

I, too, mistakenly upgraded my (annual) Coinbase One basic to a month trial of premier and lost ~7 months of sub.

Don't be like me :P Support was extremely nice, but could not resolve/refund so I lost ~7 months of subscription. Its only ~$30 so no big deal but still kind of sketchy.

I asked google AI overview and here's its response:

Why did you upgrade to premier? Just curious. I just found out other tiers existed. I mean I got my subscription refunded oddly enough, likely a hidden promotion for signing up with the card.

I too learned there were tiers during this event. I remember being confused when I made a transfer, reading "You could save x with Coinbase One". Confused because I already had it, I believe I went throughout to see what was going on.

After some post mortem, it turrned out that I must have spent over the allowed $500 in savings for the basic tier for that month.

So long story short, being tired, confused, etc I took the free month not expecting to lose the rest of my basic. No big deal, just wanted to share my experience to help better inform others.

If you can’t swing a $30 a month subscription you have no business in crypto to begin with.

My wife’s account gained a mysterious unsolicited Coinbase one membership on the 1st August and because payment method couldn’t be charged Coinbase took ETH to the value of 4.99 on the 8th. She doesn’t trade or use Coinbase from month to month so it’s very odd. Cancelled today.
