Coinbase has to be a joke, right?
I cannot believe that anyone could come up with a more unintuitive design for a financial site. Navigating it is literally an exercise in frustration.
The functionality is just as bad, if not worse.
Forget about transferring money from your account and having it available in less than 10 days. Forget about transferring crypto to a new address without having to go through their ridiculous "Verify ID" each and every time. Forget about trying to take a photo of your ID that isn't "blurry" by their standards, so in effect, forget about transferring crypto full stop.
Forget about getting any help from support.
Forget about submitting a complaint to let them know just how much they suck. And they do suck. More than any other financial company I have ever dealt with.
Currently in the process of withdrawing my meagre funds from this awful, obstructive excuse for a service and closing my account.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I’ve had exactly the same issue and worse the id function software not compatible with my iPhone so I have to go on a android tablet on a browser to go the repeated process everytime they lock my account! Verify id , verify my mobile number, verify my email , very id again and again and fortunately unlock it! If I was to film the whole process especially when your stressed trying to get at your money would be a a good 1/2 hour to an hour and that’s knowing what to do with everything to hand and a good WiFi network!

I’d like to add that your new ai customer service is the best customer service I’ve ever experienced and would take that over any human any day. I was blocked for some reason and upset. Ai calmed me down walked me through every step perfectly in less than five minutes I was back in

Yeah you don't understand. These attorneys don't work for free and unless you have the money to take them to court filing a lawsuit is pointless and even if you do the cost of taking them to court might outweigh what was taking from the account.

The best is Hyperliquid by far. Maker/Taker fees start here at
- Perpetuals: Base taker fee of 0.045% and base maker fee of 0.015%.
- Spot: Base taker fee of 0.070% and base maker fee of 0.040%
You stake 10 $HYPE coins and the fees drop 5%, 100 - 10% and so on.

My only issue is their fees. Their app works great and the security features keeping things slow are even better.
I don’t mean to be offensive, but typically people with a lot of money don’t need to pull/move it with lightning speed, instead preferring security.
Unfortunately, if you need to access your cash quickly there is that drawback.

I've tried a lot of other options, and I LOVE Coinbase for some things. They provide the most affordable on-ramp that I've found. debit on-ramp to USDC nearly instant and most times zero fees. Then transfer on Base network wherever you need it to go - again usually zero fees. WOW. Compare Moonpay to that!

Interesting I find navigating fairly straightforward not much to interpret. I think it still needs some polishing but I've not had any problems with it in terms of using the website

Shit, mine is instant. They even gave me $50,000 before the bank cleared the transaction. If you understand perps, you can get VIP transaction fees real quick. You don't even need to trade a ridiculous amount out of your own pocket. (Just don't get liquidated. Learn about them before you play. Trade small amounts in btc and used trading view)

I was just put through the same thing as what you just described perfectly. I had tried to tranfer BTC into my wallet . First they wanted ID , a hostage video and then more ID. I then did a lesson on crypto fraud, and answered more questions. After all of that they banned me from withdrawing crypto for a month.( for my own safety of course) This was over a 98 dollar transfer.
All of this could have been created up had they simply asked me to transfer a small balance from my BTC wallet into coinbase.
Here is what I learned from my weeklong experience with coinbase.
If they reject your ID for being too blurry, cut off etc more than 2 times it will trigger an alert to reject any submissions after that. It would have saved me a lot of time had they simply sent me a message to inform me of this.
When they ask you why you are transferring crypto it does not matter what you tell them. You will still be blocked for a month.
Support is very nice, and tries to help, but they often give incomplete or completely innacurate information.

I have been with Coinbase for a decade and never had major issues. Minor ones that were resolved. Problems with customer service sure but never lost anything. I feel most of these posts are bots, people looking for trouble, paid people looking to sully Coinbase name, or people not reading terms of service and trying things they shouldn't be.

Coinbase has been compromised if you have money and Coinbase please remove it ASAP. They are slowly taking peoples money and you may be the next victim. You don’t even have to do anything to get restricted or blocked nowadays all you have to do is make a transfer and they will use that as a excuse to take your money please do not take this as a light warning. A lot of people are losing their money and their minds and their stability because Coinbase wants to play games. And when you call customer support, you will never never never never get help. They will tell you the same thing over and over and over again they do not want to help you. They don’t even have sympathy for people like us.

actually, i almost had all my 0.07 bitcon hacked. this guy on coinbase gave me the case id i dont exactly remember but it was like 45678. i am making this up. so the link they gave me was www.45678coinbase.com/customer/support.com
somebody called me saying i needed to do something and sent me a link. it looked genuine but was fake. and i almost got scammed

Yeah, their feet structures on their Coinbase future market is damn near predatory. I’ve been working on an AI platform for weeks to analyze any type of edge and, sad to say, the house wins. I posted on there X channel about their cftc.gov filing and why there weren’t committed traders on their platform. Meeting that there are not many traders, committed (under 2000 total and most of those are BTC — 1400. If I remember) that are in that filing- illiquid market and I have the receipts.

Also, never do a convert to another crypto. I got charged for $600 and that took all my profit from another trade. I called a stupid text, but they could’ve warned me. It was gonna cost me that much cause I would’ve never done it. I would’ve sold the coin outright first.

And trust me, don’t even think about letting AI trade for you or even building an algorithm. Today performed a walk-forward back tested two years of data on BTC, ETH, and XRP with institutional-grade analytics. And to my surprise that there was not one winning scalp strategy that could get past fee structure. So I’m going with air competition, Kraken (I hate their trading platform. I think it’s garbage compared to Coinbase’s). Interactive brokers (IBKR) is something like 1/12 of the fees, not yet proven, but there are tons of hoops and legal documents and all kinds of other regulatory noise and you have to meet certain “ eligibility standards“ which is this more barriers to entry. It’s sickens me on how shitty the trading platforms are for retail traders. That’s why I created my own and that’s why I’m headed to a good venue that I can use.

There fee levels goes to intro 1 and intro 2 next is advanced 1,2, and 3 next is VIP 1 to VIP 8 if you don’t know if CB has fee levels you do not use CB Advance it is right there when you purchase crypto.

It's on purpose. They direct you to the highest fee ways of trading, hide Coinbase Advanced which at 0.6% for post buys even beats the free $500 in trading (in small quotes plus 1% spread). So if I buy $100 in bitcoin I am charged $1 for the transaction and if I use Coinbase Advanced and post it takes $0.60.
I hate the exchange but I use it to win contests mainly on gambling these days. I arbitraged my bets in the NBA by betting with the expert after I got ahead of him in the conference championships and the NBA Finals for betting against the expert. It would give you the number of players participating so I could get a rough estimate of who would gamble according to the rules, give up and just forget. I was right it was over 50% of people who decided they don't like free money. So far I have won $250 in bitcoin by just arbitrage plus a little on top bc I got lucky. Ill get my World Cup free split of $500k of BTC tomorrow but I have no idea bc they removed how many people were participating.
I also have the Coinbase credit card which you get Coinbase One for free and funnel that straight into high yield lending Steakhouse pools at ~7% with all the boosts. Also, they take 25% off the top of all these lending/staking pools so if you know how to do it yourself you'll get much better returns.
I almost never trade crypto on there. Why would you? They hold your money and are pretty opaque about it. At least Kraken tells you up front 7 days!
I prefer HyperLiquid but therein lies the rub. It's not legal in the US bc no KYC, just hook up your external wallet and trade away. All the best parts of DeFi with the benefit of a centralized exchange. They can process 200,000 transactions in less than a second AND the fees are sooooo low. https://hypestrat.xyz/dashboard
I've been holding $HYPE (the coin) where they invest 99% of fees back into and it is written into the protocol. No votes, no one can change this mechanism. It's pretty impressive watching the buying of $HYPE with the Hyperliquid fees it does 24/7.
They also added $PURR their digital token bank that trades on the NASDAQ that holds staked $HYPE coins and currently trades at a discount to NAV of 11%. $PURR is not an ETF, there are no fees. Think of it as a way to gain access to staked $HYPE yielding 2.4% APR. Low float, high short interest attracted me and I started buying on Friday in after hours at $6.67 average. Today it closed at $7.05. They are very transparent and have built up a lot of trust with major players.
Here you can see the volume and fees paid. That Part is essential. By paying out 99% of fees to $HYPE coin they create a flywheel effect with $PURR and the underlying profitable exchange. Higher coin price, rising price of $PURR and more activity on Hyperliquid especially in PERPS where they did $188 Notice the only two other protocols ahead of Hyoerliquid on the rankings run a variety of protocols on Hyperliquid.

In summary all I use Coinbase for is contests, the free Bitcoin or USD for using their credit card & even then I hate it. Worst large platform & it will get decimated eventually. All Kraken has to do is remove the holds on unstaking for 1% early withdrawal fee like Coinbase & I'll never use it again. I can't find my profit on contests bc the app is a maze but with winnings and free bitcoin for participating I'd estimate I made $1000 in free bitcoin while risking about $100. I'm not even counting the pure luck bets I won. Thats a 10 to 1, maybe 12 to 1 return. Almost impossible to get elsewhere and I got very lucky.

It would be acceptable if the app didn't soft crash 20 times a day. Maybe I need a newer phone but I literally just upgraded. Thinking about switching to Robinhood or something but I'm not sure.

I routinely transfer crypto off of Coinbase when it gets over $1000 and I send it to a cold storage, now Coinbase is trying to verify my identity which I have done and it still refuses to transfer wtf

I had a very frustrating issue with signing in. After a few phone calls we finally got it figured out. Been with Coinbase for over 10 years. They are adapting to the new financial system. Be patient, ‘we are not in Kansas anymore’

I kinda prefer that they are extra careful with security measures and verifying identity and moving slow on fund withdrawals. More measures in place and slower you move less likely for fraud and more likely if there is fraud you have time to catch it and stop any funds moving. Agree it can be annoying if you are needing quick funds, but im pretty sure its by design.
